Soul Masters cultivate Soul Power through their Martial Souls. Awakening a Martial Soul and possessing usable Soul Power allows a child to enter the Soul Master path; Innate Full Soul Power marks exceptional initial potential 2 6.

Martial Souls

A Martial Soul is the foundation of a Soul Master’s cultivation, combat style, and Spirit Ring selection. Martial Souls may be weapons, beasts, plants, bodily attributes, or more unusual powers 6 20 24.

• Weapon Martial Souls include the Ghost Sword, Clear Sky Hammer, Willow Leaf Twin Blades, Greensteel Sword, and Angel Holy Sword 6 40 43 44.
• Beast Martial Souls include the Gale Demon Wolf, Black Bear, Pangolin, and Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor 6 40 36.
• Plant Martial Souls include Blue Silver Grass, Blue Silver King, Jade Bamboo Grove, and Nine-Heart Begonia 23 31 60.
• Twin Martial Souls allow one person to possess two distinct Martial Souls, as demonstrated by Tang Yin’s Blue Silver King and Clear Sky Hammer 47.
• A Martial Soul can evolve through compatible resources. Tang Yin’s Blue Silver Grass develops into the Blue Silver King after absorbing the life-attributed Life Marrow Spirit Bone 30 31.
• Damaged Martial Souls can be restored or enhanced, though amplification may fail and destroy the Martial Soul 43 45.

Spirit Rings and Soul Skills

Spirit Rings are acquired from slain Soul Beasts and provide Soul Masters with soul skills. A Soul Beast’s age, attributes, and compatibility determine the value and danger of a ring 23 24.

• Berserk — Lin Yue’s first soul skill; doubles attack power, attack speed, and movement speed while reducing defense by 10% 28.
• Growth — Tang Yin’s first soul skill; doubles the Blue Silver Grass’s growth speed, toughness, and strength for five minutes 23.
• Wind Blade — Feng Xiaolin’s first soul skill, creating cutting wind-based attacks 7 32.

• External Soul Bones can possess transformational functions. Lin Yue’s Evil God’s Blood Shadow can become wings, armor, or blood-red spider lances 54.
• Spatial Soul Tools provide portable storage. Yu Xiaogang’s belt contains twenty-four cubic meters of space before Tang Yin gives it to Lin Yue 28.
• Hidden weapons can threaten stronger Soul Masters when properly made and used, including Tang Yin’s Zhuge Repeating Crossbow 42 43.

• Spirit Hall conducts Martial Soul awakenings, tests Soul Power, recruits gifted children, distributes monthly subsidies to registered Soul Masters, and oversees branches across the continent 2 35 44.
• Soul Master Academies provide work-study places, cultivation instruction, and access to Spirit Ring hunts for students with limited means 3 4 13.
• Spirit Ring hunting is often dangerous and expensive, especially for commoner Soul Masters, who may have to accept weaker or less compatible rings because they lack resources and protection 24 40.
