Background

Six years before the opening events, Zang Xin summoned Cao Dezhi from the Blood God Legion after Qiankun Wenqing Valley erupted with multicolored light and an overwhelming law fluctuation. The two were drawn into the valley, endured its trials, and Cao Xin was born afterward. 1

Cao Xin inherited Zang Xin’s Sentimental Sword alongside Cao Dezhi’s Ruthless Sword. The Sentimental Sword is a unique mutated Martial Soul, and its exact inheritance helped observers identify Cao Xin as Zang Xin and Cao Dezhi’s biological child. 2 11 33

Personality

Zang Xin is ordinarily gentle, composed, and soft-spoken. He shows open delight in Cao Xin’s accomplishments, from the boy’s Martial Soul awakening to victories that leave other powerful observers stunned. 2 8 13

His affection is paired with extreme protectiveness. Zang Xin treats anyone with genuine murderous intent toward Cao Xin as an unacceptable threat, supports Cao Xin’s decision to execute such enemies, and promises that he and Cao Dezhi will bear any consequences. 20 24

He is also politically calculating. He negotiated directly with Qian Gu Dongfeng over the Evil Eye Tyrant’s External Soul Bone, offered future Tang Sect profits to preserve cooperation, and attempted to recruit Ye Xinglan as Cao Xin’s sword attendant for both practical and personal reasons. 10 21

Sentimental Sword

Zang Xin possesses the Sentimental Sword, a crystalline mutated Martial Soul associated with gentleness, agility, and emotion. Its inherited form manifests as a transparent crystal longsword with a faint rainbow glow. 2

• Once — Zang Xin’s first Soul Skill, later inherited by Cao Xin. It awakens deep emotions in a target, stuns them, and reverses their actions by one second, negating attacks or defenses formed during that interval. 5
• Traceback — A skill identified as part of Zang Xin’s specialty when combined with Once. It grants momentary immunity to energy-based attacks and moves the user directly along the attack’s trajectory to the attacker. 7

Quasi-God Power

Zang Xin’s cultivation places him among the continent’s highest-level Soul Masters. Qian Gu Dongfeng identifies him as a Quasi-God whose strength exceeds his own Demigod-level power. 7

• His released pressure can immobilize a Seven-Ring Soul Sage, force the target out of Martial Soul Avatar form, and drive them to their knees. 19
