Background / History

Gu Zhi arrived on the Douluo Continent only a month before the opening events, initially as an ordinary person without an awakened Martial Soul. After obtaining the Strongest Deity System, he advanced to Level 30 and began clearing its novice missions at Suotuo City’s Great Soul Arena. His first mission required ten consecutive solo victories; completing it granted ten levels of Soul Power, a God-given Spirit Ring, and a Ten Thousand Year Soul Bone. His abrupt rise attracts the attention of Bibi Dong, who considers recruiting him before he becomes an enemy Spirit Hall cannot contain. 1 2

His second novice mission requires ten consecutive two-versus-two victories. Zhu Zhuqing approaches him to become his partner, and the pair register as the Cat Head Duo. Rather than simply carrying her, Gu Zhi uses his protections, enhancements, and battlefield control to let Zhu Zhuqing challenge stronger opponents herself. 2 6

After beginning the map-exploration quest, Gu Zhi travels to the Star Dou Great Forest to activate map markers, establish a teleportation point, gather medicinal herbs, and open treasure chests.
