Background

Zhu Zhuqing was a Shrek Academy student tied to Dai Mubai through an engagement. Before meeting Gu Zhi, she was already dissatisfied with Dai Mubai and later rejected pressure to compromise for the sake of the Shrek group. 3 14 15

She first saw Gu Zhi at Suotuo City's Great Soul Arena while disguised with a half-mask and cat-ear accessories. After witnessing his effortless tenth solo victory and learning from the bullet comments that teammates could share his system rewards, she resolved to approach him before anyone else could. 1

Her initial proposal to become Gu Zhi's teammate was practical: she argued that her presence would keep opponents willing to challenge him and offered to take less prize money. When these offers failed, she confessed that she liked him and wanted to compete and grow stronger with him. 2
