Professor McGonagall's tone softened considerably, and she no longer sounded so angry. Turning to Roy, who stood awkwardly at the side, she spoke first.
"What else do you have to say?"
Roy could not quite gauge Professor McGonagall's attitude. Usually silver-tongued, he found himself at a loss for words.
"Uh... Happy New Year?"
Seeing him spout nonsense again, Professor McGonagall was already used to his flighty nature. All she could say was that there was something a little off about this boy's brain, so she took the initiative to ask him.
"New Year's is still a long way off. I'm asking why you were selling toys at school. Don't tell me you and Fred and George are thinking of opening a game shop after graduation?"
Only then did Roy breathe a sigh of relief. So the professor merely knew he had been selling things on campus. He hurriedly explained the whole story.
To avoid any misunderstanding, he told Professor McGonagall everything: his original intention behind designing Auto Chess, the principles behind the magical patterns on the cards, and how the game had spread throughout the school. Only then did Professor McGonagall finally understand what this Auto Chess that students had been talking about nonstop these past few days actually was.
Professor McGonagall casually picked up a card bearing her likeness and placed it on the board. The portrait on the card immediately turned into a tiny three-dimensional figure and stood up. On the board, the little Professor McGonagall waved her wand and summoned a group of stone knights to charge at Little Roy on the other side. Little Roy, who cost only 1 gold, had nothing but an elbow strike for a skill. How could he possibly elbow stones to death? He was knocked to the ground in no time.
