Wool's Orphanage. On the night before returning to school, Roy sat downstairs in the recreation room watching television with the children. Mia secretly slipped away and hid in her room alone, lying on her bed and staring blankly at a book with no writing in it.
In Mia's mindscape, she followed Sebastian once again to the empty grassland in front of Saluzu Residence.
Sebastian stood before Mia with a wand in hand, repeatedly casting red and green spells at the scarecrow not far ahead.
As Sebastian demonstrated for Mia, he explained everything in great detail.
"This move is called Avada Kedavra. It is an extremely powerful spell that cannot be blocked. Anyone hit by it dies on the spot. You need to summon an extraordinarily strong intent to kill in order to cast it successfully."
Sebastian fired another red spell at the scarecrow, then explained it to Mia.
"This is Crucio. If you do not want to kill someone, you can use this spell instead. Being hit by it is incredibly painful. You would not want to experience that feeling."
After demonstrating the spells for Mia, Sebastian turned to face her and asked whether there was anything she did not understand.
Mia said nothing. She merely shrugged, caught the wand Sebastian tossed her, and pointed it at the scarecrow ahead.
"Avada Kedavra!"
Mia's spell failed. Though she had shouted it with great force, not even the slightest green light appeared at the tip of her wand.
"Crucio!!!!"
A faint red light shot from the wand's tip. Mia had barely managed to cast the spell, but her aim was terribly off. It missed the scarecrow and struck the grass beside it.
Sebastian clapped his hands and praised Mia for how quickly she had learned.
"Excellent. When I first obtained these spells
