The stretch left Chiyo’s fate contested, Kumogakure weighing intervention, and Tsunade and Jiraiya confronting an unseen intruder.

• Karen broke free of Chizuru’s Genjutsu, but Chizuru’s summoned black cat defeated her, while conflict over Kirito’s rumors exposed Hiruzen Sarutobi’s control of the Anbu and the Third Hokage’s weakened position.
• Kirito’s forces struck Kumogakure, where Hanzō and the Third Raikage fought amid the destruction, and Kirito later secured Kirigakure’s support for Amegakure with a 15-billion commission.
• Kirito rejected an attack on Sunagakure during peace talks, then tasked Shikaku Nara with recruiting its anti-peace faction as Orochimaru tried to develop his own Reinforcement Curse Mark.
• Shukaku’s sandstorm helped Kirito’s forces overwhelm Sunagakure’s frontline base, and Kirito killed the Third Kazekage after a battle that ended with an enormous Rasenshuriken striking an Iron Sand wall.

• Konoha chose Shayun as its prospective partner in Sunagakure while keeping Kurosu as an alternative, and Ōnoki agreed to support Kurotsuchi’s efforts to rescue Chiyo.
• The Third Raikage learned that Kirigakure had joined the fighting and that Kirito had killed the Third Kazekage, then decided to go to the Land of Fire to rescue Chiyo as Tsunade and Jiraiya confronted someone hiding nearby.

Kirito helped Amegakure survive Kumogakure’s invasion while clashing with Madara Uchiha and disrupting his plans for Nagato. The war ended in Amegakure’s favor, and Kirito began testing the Rinnegan as Konoha’s leaders prepared to discuss the village’s future.

• Hattori Masanari secretly sought Konoha’s help for Amegakure, and Kirito persuaded Tsunade to press the Third Hokage for support by revealing Root’s Wood Style experiments.
• Kirito fought Madara Uchiha near Amegakure, but Madara escaped after overwhelming Kirito with Wood Release.
• Madara Uchiha killed Homura Uchiha and captured Hatake Sakumo, while Kirito used Sakumo’s body to trap Madara in an alternate space before Madara seized Sakumo and escaped.
• Tsunade arrived in Amegakure as the Third Raikage led more than ten thousand Cloud Ninja against the village, and Kirito raised a Rock Golem to face him.
• Kirito’s signal triggered explosives beneath Amegakure, and the ensuing Kirigakure attack routed Kumogakure’s forces after thousands of Cloud Ninja died.
• Madara Uchiha attacked Amegakure’s underground shelter and Nagato awakened the Rinnegan, but Kirito stopped him and forced Madara to withdraw after taking Nagato’s eyes.
• Kirito replaced Nagato’s eyes, then tested the Rinnegan in a Lightning Release Clone and an Uzumaki Clone before using it to create Black Rods.

Kirito and Konoha fought Madara Uchiha’s revived forces while Chizuru awakened and mastered her Mangekyō Sharingan. The arc left Konoha preparing to aid Amegakure against Kumogakure as Kirito held Tenjin Hyuga’s soul and faced his plea to let the dead rest.

• The Third Hokage agreed to send Orochimaru to aid Amegakure, while Madara Uchiha found Hatake Sakumo and began targeting Danzo’s remaining resources.
• Madara controlled Danzo’s forces and recruited Hiruko, while Ōnoki sent Kitsuchi and Han to attack Amegakure.
• Kirito and six Amegakure Jonin devastated Iwagakure’s base, and Kirito restrained the Five-Tails before negotiating with it and absorbing much of its Chakra.
• Madara summoned Hashirama Senju, then revived Homura Uchiha and sent him with Mu and Hozuki Gengetsu to attack Konoha’s camp.

Kirito fought to disrupt Madara Uchiha’s war plans, defeat the enemy forces, and rescue the Third Hokage and Hatake Sakumo. He returned to the Land of Rain with both men after securing a two-year truce and sabotaging Madara’s Rinnegan.

• Kirito searched the Hyuga Clan’s hiding places for Byakugan, while Madara Uchiha and Iwagakure joined forces against Konoha and Kirito’s experiments made the collected eyes grow powerful and dark.
• The Third Raikage attacked Konoha’s camp, but Kirito captured him with a puppet and sealing techniques as the battle spread to Iwagakure and the Five-Tails.
• Kirito helped defeat Iwagakure’s forces, while the Eight-Tails escaped its captors and Kirito killed it and Blue B before Madara abandoned his capture attempt.
• Madara Uchiha infiltrated Konoha, captured Hiruzen Sarutobi, and demanded that Kirito meet him, prompting Kirito to develop his Earth Style and create Wood Release Chakra.
• Kirito confronted Madara at the Valley of the End, freed Tobirama Senju from the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu, and escaped with Hiruzen Sarutobi.
• Kirito negotiated Hatake Sakumo’s release in exchange for the Rinnegan and a two-year truce, then secretly layered seals into the eye and destroyed the Senju Clan Cemetery to prevent Madara from using its dead.
