Sunset Forest.
"My lord, the ruler of Sunset Forest is a hundred-thousand-year Death Spider Emperor."
Chu Yuan and Di Tian hovered silently above Sunset Forest.
The ruler Di Tian spoke of—the hundred-thousand-year Death Spider Emperor—was the source of the ninth soul ring for Bibi Dong's first martial soul, the Death Spider Emperor.
"It can wait. First, I'll take you somewhere connected to the deaths of our Dragon Clan's Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King."
Di Tian's head snapped up, his eyes filled with shock.
"Uncle Ice? Uncle Fire? My lord, you know where they fell?"
Di Tian had once lived in the Divine Realm. But when the Dragon God met with disaster, he had still been a junior, so the clan elders sent him down.
Chu Yuan nodded and looked toward a valley within Sunset Forest.
"Follow me."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Chu Yuan flashed away and appeared above the valley in the blink of an eye.
Di Tian hurried after him.
Once they reached the valley, Di Tian frowned at the sight below.
"My lord, the soul power in this valley is at least three times denser than outside."
Such a vast difference could mean only one thing: a rare treasure lay within the valley!
Otherwise, the soul power here could never be so much denser than outside.
"This valley holds the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, a place known as a treasure basin. It was formed from the remnants of the Ice Dragon King's and Fire Dragon King's source power after they fell."
Chu Yuan raised a hand. Soul power surged through it, and the mist rising from the mingling springs below vanished in an instant.
With the mist gone, the valley came fully into view.
At its center lay a circular pool roughly a hundred meters across. Its waters were divided into ice-blue and fiery red, meeting at a clear boundary without mixing. They chased each other slowly like two fish. Bitter cold radiated from the blue side, while steam rose from the red.
Strange flowers and herbs grew all around the pool, each with a different shape and a faint ripple of soul power.
Di Tian stared at the valley below. His hands clenched, and sorrow entered his eyes.
"Uncle Fire Dragon King and Uncle Ice Dragon King's bodies were here on Douluo Continent all along. More than a hundred thousand years have passed, and I never sensed a thing!"
Guilt weighed heavily on Di Tian. The bodies of the two uncles who had doted on him had never been laid to rest.
If he had noticed even the slightest sign, his two uncles' remains would not have gone unburied for so long.
"This isn't your fault. The Ice Dragon King's and Fire Dragon King's bodies are hidden in a space beneath the spring. It's only natural that you couldn't detect them."
Even Chu Yuan could not sense them, much less Di Tian. Fortunately, Chu Yuan knew where the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well was.
Di Tian nodded, still blaming himself. It's natural that I couldn't sense them. And just as natural that my lord could, isn't it?
Chu Yuan said nothing more. He plunged straight into the center of the pool, with Di Tian close behind.
The waters of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well were formidable. Even a single drop would seriously harm a Titled Douluo.
But they could not hurt Chu Yuan's terrifyingly tough body at all. Even Di Tian could withstand them.
The deeper they swam, the more fearsome the waters became. Chu Yuan felt no difference, but burns began to appear across Di Tian's body.
He felt no discomfort. Instead, his excitement grew.
The energy in the water felt deeply familiar to him.
If he ignored the scalding heat and bone-piercing cold, being in the water felt like returning to the days when he had been a cherished junior in the Divine Realm.
That could mean only one thing: the remains of his two uncles, the Ice Dragon King and the Fire Dragon King, really were in a space beneath the pool.
After an unknown length of time, a blinding white light filled Chu Yuan's and Di Tian's vision. Everything before them vanished, replaced by nothing but white.
At last, their vision returned, and the space before them opened up.
The dark waters that had surrounded them were gone.
Before them lay two enormous dragon remains, stretching farther than the eye could see. In front of them, two softly glowing objects floated motionless in midair.
Thud!
Di Tian dropped to both knees beside Chu Yuan, tears filling his eyes.
After Di Tian had calmed down, Chu Yuan approached the two sets of remains and drew the glowing objects into his hand.
The Ice Dragon King and the Fire Dragon King were Divine Beasts, so the soul bones they left behind were naturally divine bones. Chu Yuan had no use for them, though. He was not human to begin with.
"These are Uncle Ice Dragon King's and Uncle Fire Dragon King's divine bones."
Di Tian looked at the two bones in Chu Yuan's hand. Their familiar aura made his grief impossible to hide.
"I'll leave them in your care." Chu Yuan handed the bones to Di Tian.
Just as Di Tian took them and prepared to put them safely away, a voice sounded, so faint it was barely audible.
"That aura... Is that little Di Tian?"
The voice was hoarse and frail, like that of someone at death's door.
Di Tian jolted at the familiar voice. He looked down at the divine bone glowing blue in his hand, and Chu Yuan turned to look as well.
"Uncle Ice Dragon King, is that you?"
As Di Tian asked, Chu Yuan sent his spiritual power into the bone.
Through its feedback, Chu Yuan soon saw an exceedingly faint wisp of soul. Blurred as it was, he could still tell it belonged to a pure-blooded True Dragon.
The source power within that soul was identical to the power in the divine bone.
"Child, it really is you!"
The owner of the voice grew noticeably more excited when he heard Di Tian speak.
"So the Ice Dragon King didn't truly die. He sealed his remnant soul inside the divine bone. And because his soul was divine, it endured for so long without fading away."
What the Ice Dragon King had done was the same as what the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King would do later.
The difference was that the Ice Dragon King's divine soul could endure far longer.
"Good! Good! Good! Uncle Ice Dragon King, you're still alive. Thank goodness!"
Tears streamed down Di Tian's face. He might have been the renowned leader of the Black-Eyed Golden Dragon clan, a Beast God more than eight hundred thousand years old.
But to Dragon Kings like the Ice Dragon King, he was still a junior who needed looking after.
"Little Di Tian, don't cry. Tell me how the Dragon Clan is doing now. And the one beside you—why is his bloodline so powerful?"
These Dragon Kings had fallen long before the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King were born.
The Ice Dragon King could sense the Dragon Clan bloodline within Chu Yuan, but he could not understand why it was so powerful—even slightly stronger than the bloodlines of the Dragon Kings themselves.
