"Batman?"

Hearing Poison Ivy's words, Li Ang thought, Could I really be this unlucky?

Harley Quinn had only said it when she left. Had it come true this quickly?

What a jinx.

"No."

Poison Ivy spoke, giving Li Ang a surprised look. Why did he seem so relaxed?

Was there anyone in Gotham who wasn't afraid of Batman?

"Batwoman."

Hearing that title, Li Ang frowned instead.

Batman was easy enough to handle. At least Batman was willing to communicate.

But Batwoman? He had never dealt with her before!

If Poison Ivy knew what he was thinking, she would definitely cough up blood.

This was the first time she had ever heard someone say Batman was easy to communicate with.

If that were true, supervillains would not fear him.

"Let's go."

Li Ang grabbed Poison Ivy's wrist, making sure she did not leave his side.

Poison Ivy had no choice. She discovered that this man was surprisingly strong, and being beside him made her feel safe.

No wonder Harley Quinn was so obsessed with him.

She had not even been this attached to Joker back then.

Li Ang did not abandon his post. Instead, he went to inform Frank.

Unexpectedly, Frank looked utterly dead inside as he said, "I'll cover for you, but if Boss Cobblepot asks..."

"Just tell him the truth."

Li Ang said.

Upper Eastside.

Li Ang rode there in Poison Ivy Pamela's luxury car.

He discovered a shocking reality.

Whether they were superheroes or supervillains, most people in Gotham were quite wealthy.

Especially the Bat-Family. They could practically be described as rich enough to rival nations.

Only people who did not lack money had the time to go out and fight for justice.

If it were really someone like Spider-Man Peter Parker, who could not even keep up with his mortgage, he would have to work honestly even if he came to Gotham...

The same was true for superheroes, and villains were not much different.

Take Poison Ivy, for example. Why did she cause trouble? To make money...

Penguin was even more obvious. The Iceberg Lounge existed to launder money.

The Falcone Family had their hands in both legitimate and criminal business, making a fortune.

The only person Li Ang had encountered who was broke was Harley Quinn.

And the only poor bastard had gotten together with him!

Poison Ivy stopped the car and led Li Ang into an abandoned residence.

"We were negotiating business here when it got interrupted."

Poison Ivy Pamela said.

They had already found the current power broker of the Upper Eastside and were preparing to take over the territory.

Then Batwoman had appeared out of nowhere and ruined the meeting.

Of course, calling it a business negotiation was just a polite way of saying Harley Quinn had started throwing punches.

In Gotham, becoming the boss was simple. Either you were ruthless enough, or you could fight well enough.

Harley Quinn had both, making her perfectly suited to start her own operation.

She simply had not cared about such things before.

"Harley!"

After entering, Poison Ivy hurriedly called out.

"You're here!"

Harley Quinn immediately responded, "Hurry up and save me!"

Li Ang and Poison Ivy hurried toward the sound.

They saw Harley Quinn hanging upside down, her twin ponytails swaying back and forth.

"Where's Batwoman?"

Li Ang had Poison Ivy lower Harley Quinn and asked.

Instead, Poison Ivy walked over and immediately stepped into a trap.

Whoosh!

The rope on the ground was triggered at once. Poison Ivy had no time to react before it wrapped around her ankle and hoisted her up beside Harley Quinn.

Harley Quinn: ...

The two best friends looked at each other, and Harley Quinn immediately said, "Ivy, how can you be this dumb?"

"Shut up!"

Poison Ivy snapped in embarrassment.

Fighting was never her specialty. How could she have reacted in time?

Harley Quinn ignored her and looked at Li Ang instead. "Darling, why are you the one who came?"

Hadn't she told Poison Ivy to fetch Kara?

"Of course I came to save you."

Li Ang ignored her after that and turned around.

A figure was already standing behind him.

She wore a black skintight combat suit. It lacked Batman's technological look and instead fit her body more closely. Her thick red hair was strikingly fiery, and a massive black-and-red cape draped behind her.

When she saw Li Ang looking at her, she immediately threw the Batarang in her hand.

The Batarang was incredibly fast, but it was not aimed at any vital point.

For a moment, the world in Li Ang's eyes slowed down.

He stretched out a hand and lightly pinched it.

The Batarang was caught between his fingers. He examined it carefully; it was more or less the same as Batman's.

The sight stunned all three women. Harley Quinn, who had been trying to escape, immediately shouted, "Darling, I didn't know you were this amazing! Beat the shit out of this bitch!"

Those words immediately put Batwoman on guard, and she assumed a fighting stance.

Li Ang turned around and threw the Batarang toward Harley Quinn.

The Batarang instantly cut through the rope. Harley Quinn crashed onto the floor, dizzy and unable to speak.

Finally, she shut up.

"Don't fight."

Li Ang then turned to Batwoman. "I know your boss. We're on the same side."

Batwoman relaxed slightly at that, but said, "He isn't my boss."

"See? I never said who it was, but you assumed it was him yourself."

Li Ang immediately smiled.

Batwoman became somewhat angry from embarrassment and nearly attacked him.

Now he could confirm that she was the second Batwoman.

Because the first Batwoman was Bruce Wayne's elder, and she definitely would not have "admitted" it after hearing him say that.

But the second Batwoman, Kate Kane, was Bruce Wayne's cousin, so the situation was different.

Batwoman was not Batgirl.

The most famous Batgirl was Barbara Gordon, but unfortunately, she was in a wheelchair now.

"How am I supposed to believe you?"

Batwoman did not want to keep arguing with Li Ang over this, so she asked.

"You can ask him. Just tell him my name. I'm Li Ang. And you?"

Li Ang asked.

"Kate... Batwoman."

She nearly gave him her real name directly. It was kind of adorable.

After realizing it, she glared at Li Ang, then walked aside to contact Alfred.

"Alfred, do you know Li Ang?"

"Of course. We have been keeping an eye on him. Is something the matter, Miss Kate?"

"Nothing. I'll handle it."

Batwoman did not want to say more and hung up immediately.

She walked back and said, "Even if you know him, you were involved in a crime."

"Hey, I only came here to rescue someone. I wasn't involved, so don't slander me."

Li Ang cut her off directly.

You could eat whatever you wanted, but you could not say whatever you wanted.

"Besides, stopping her won't help. Without Harley Quinn, someone else will come to take control of this place. You might as well trust me. I'll make her behave."

What else could Batwoman do?

Unless she wanted to fight Li Ang, she could only accept it.

Besides, she felt that Li Ang had a point.

There were too many gangs in Gotham. Rather than let someone else grow powerful, it was better to choose someone familiar.

"I'll be watching you."

Batwoman said to Li Ang.

Li Ang had so many debts that one more made no difference. "I'm honored."
