As everyone knew, Bruce Wayne basically never showed up at night.
He was different from other wealthy men.
He often lived the life of a playboy during the day, then practically vanished at night.
So it was usually hard to see Bruce Wayne at dinners like this.
While everyone else was waiting for Bruce Wayne, Li Ang went straight inside.
This was a charity dinner, and wealthy guests were expected to donate.
To lend the event some prestige, Wayne Enterprises had brought out many antiques and cultural relics.
Li Ang, meanwhile, was simply here to broaden his horizons and meet some people.
As for anything else... if he saw something he liked, that would be fine too.
So Li Ang wandered aimlessly around the hotel.
He was quite interested in the many Chinese antiques and artifacts on display.
Unfortunately, if he had the money, he would definitely buy them all and put them in museums in China.
These were China's treasures. How could they be allowed to remain overseas?
"This is the Ming Yongle Sword. Its blade was forged by folding and hammering different types of steel, with a central ridge to increase its strength. Its hilt is gilded iron, adorned with exquisite Ming-style decorations and Buddhist motifs."
"It is hailed as the pinnacle of Chinese swords from the early fifteenth century. Unfortunately, it was later taken by barbarians..."
Li Ang came up beside an exceptionally tall woman. She wore a white backless evening gown, her smooth black hair falling over her shoulders. Her figure was perfectly proportioned; even from behind, she was breathtaking.
Some people could stir the heart with nothing but their figure.
Li Ang had long passed the age of looking at faces first. He looked at figure and temperament before anything else.
"It is currently housed in the Royal Armouries Museum. This one is a replica."
The woman answered, then turned to glance at Li Ang.
Her face carried a heroic air without losing any of its stunning beauty. Her bearing surpassed even Catwoman Selina's.
There were many beautiful women in the world, but very few with genuine presence.
The gaudy women Li Ang had met before could not compare to the woman before him. She radiated intelligence and wisdom, like a goddess of beauty from myth.
"Li Ang."
Li Ang took the initiative and held out his hand in introduction.
The woman smiled slightly at him, seemingly finding this sort of approach rather novel.
"Diana Prince."
They shook hands, and Li Ang was ecstatic inside.
Diana Prince.
Wonder Woman!
Well, damn. The three giants of the Justice League had gathered at a Wayne Enterprises charity gala.
Though they were all still inexperienced. Wonder Woman had not appeared in the world for a long time, and Clark had yet to become Superman.
"You know me?"
Diana was extremely perceptive. Seeing his reaction, she asked the question.
Because Li Ang was still holding her hand and had not let go.
Li Ang came back to his senses and released her hand with perfect gentlemanly grace. "Miss Diana, you're quite famous in the antiques world."
"Thank you. I've merely seen more than most."
Diana accepted the compliment with considerable pride.
That was the difference in culture. A Chinese person would definitely have acted modestly.
But in America, modesty could easily make people think you truly lacked ability.
"I'm very interested in antiques. Why don't we have a drink?"
"Sure. I'm getting a little tired anyway."
Diana replied with a smile.
Even in high heels, she was over six feet tall. Walking beside Li Ang, she immediately drew countless eyes.
No one knew how this lucky Eastern kid had managed to strike up a connection with such a beauty.
To win the beauty's favor, Li Ang even mixed the drink himself, leaving the hotel staff utterly stunned.
"Thank you. So you can do this too. It's delicious."
Diana took a sip and smiled.
Then the two began discussing antiques.
Diana had lived for so long that her expertise came entirely from having seen so many genuine pieces. She could spot a fake at a glance.
Put simply, it was experience.
So she knew the answers to many of Li Ang's questions, and the two had a wonderful conversation.
Tailoring his approach to the person was Li Ang's core skill.
He was good at finding out what the other person liked, then making it his own interest...
Diana's hobby was her work, or she would not have done it for so long.
After chatting for a while, the charity dinner was about to begin.
"You're from Gotham?"
Diana checked the time, then asked.
Li Ang understood the cue and said, "That's right. Where do you usually stay, Miss Diana?"
"My work takes me all over the world."
Hearing that, Li Ang realized he could not let this chance slip away.
So he took the initiative. "You have to wait for me after the dinner."
Diana Prince hesitated slightly. Li Ang suited her tastes well, and Amazons were naturally passionate and bold, so she did want to get to know him more deeply.
"That depends on your performance."
Diana neither agreed nor refused, draining the rest of her wine in a single gulp with her red lips.
Then she rose and headed toward the banquet.
She was wealthy, unlike a spectator like Li Ang.
But as soon as Diana left, someone sat down in the seat she had occupied.
"How about giving that gorgeous girl to me?"
Li Ang could only sigh at the other person's words.
The person who sat down was Kate Kane.
She had long, wavy red hair and wore a brightly colored evening gown. Her tall, flawless figure was enough to make anyone's heart race.
She stared at Diana's retreating figure with obvious interest.
If it had been anyone else trying to steal a woman from Li Ang, he would have punched them.
But Kate was different.
She was a woman.
So Li Ang merely said viciously, "Go ahead and try. I'll turn you straight."
"Tch."
Kate did not believe him. Instead, she shot him a provocative look. "If you can do it, the Kane Family is yours."
The Kane Family was Gotham's second-richest family after the Wayne Family. They were practically bound to Wayne Enterprises, sharing both prosperity and ruin.
Honestly, Li Ang was tempted.
As the saying went, a penny could stump a hero, and even superheroes feared having no money.
If he really gained the Kane Family, then Li Ang and the others would never have to worry about food or clothing again.
But he knew she was mostly joking.
So Li Ang only gave her the middle finger.
Kate had a carefree personality and never held back in what she did.
"Forget it. I won't fight you for women."
Kate put on a magnanimous expression. "But aren't you afraid Harley Quinn will find out?"
Li Ang only smiled. "Did you forget? She's asked me more than once to bring you along."
"Fuck off!"
Kate Kane could not take it anymore.
That crazy Harley Quinn had her completely under control. Only when she became Batwoman could she teach Harley Quinn a lesson.
But if she could not handle Harley Quinn, could she not handle Li Ang?
She immediately used her signature move and pinched the soft flesh at Li Ang's waist.
"Hiss."
"Are you crazy?"
Li Ang hurriedly grabbed her hand and dodged.
The two of them looked rather intimate like that.
"Enough, stop messing around. Why did you ask me to come to this dinner?"
Li Ang said frankly, "I'm broke. You brought me here to do charity? They should be donating to me."
Still annoyed, Kate Kane punched him hard, finally venting some of her frustration.
She took a sip of red wine and said, "I introduced you to people, and you're not even going to thank me?"
"What? Are you really giving me the Kane Family?"
That made Kate grit her teeth.
"If you can turn me straight, I'll give you everything!"
