Tang Mingxi glanced at the little sofa. It had never been meant for sleeping, so it was tiny.
Let alone Ye Heng—Tang Mingxi himself would barely have room to stretch out on it.
"How about..." Tang Mingxi rubbed the tip of his nose. "You sleep on the bed."
Ye Heng turned back to look at him.
Tang Mingxi said, "I mean we sleep in the bed together. I'm not saying I'll sleep on the sofa for you."
Don't get the wrong idea. I'd rather die than sleep on that sofa :)
Ye Heng stood where he was for several seconds, his expression subtle, without moving.
Tang Mingxi asked once and got no answer. By the second time, he was already annoyed.
"Are you sleeping or not? I'm exhausted. If you're not sleeping, turn off the lights and stop standing there."
"No. I was just confirming something."
A question mark popped up over Tang Mingxi's head.
Ye Heng slowly walked to the bedside and looked down at him, a teasing expression on his face.
"Are we still showing off?"
"..."
Showing off what? Who was still putting on an act? If you're so dedicated, why not go on I Am an Actor?
Tang Mingxi was too speechless to talk to the male lead. He rolled over, turned his back to him, and went to sleep.
With a click, the ceiling light went out. The curtains slowly drew together in the middle under the machine's control.
Tang Mingxi had a habit of leaving on a night-light when he slept. In the dim yellowish glow, all he could make out was Ye Heng's blurry silhouette.
Soon, he felt one side of the bed sink. A corner of the quilt was lifted, and the other man's warmth transferred to him with startling clarity.
Ten minutes later, Tang Mingxi stared wide-eyed, unable to sleep.
The next morning, the dark circles beneath Tang Mingxi's eyes were obvious. He seemed not to have slept well.
Ye Heng, on the other hand, looked completely unaffected. After getting up, he washed and dressed as usual, leaving Tang Mingxi with a bellyful of morning irritation that he had nowhere to vent.
Wasn't the reason he couldn't sleep last night all because of that dog of a male lead?
Ugh, he had overestimated himself. How could it possibly be easy to sleep beside the enemy who had killed him TT.
Tang Mingxi had even had nightmares all night, fighting sharks in every one of them.
Now, whenever he saw Ye Heng, aside from a little psychological trauma, he was also immensely jealous that Ye Heng had gotten such a good night's sleep.
After Ye Heng finished washing up, he found Second Young Master Tang still sitting on the bed without moving.
His face was full of obvious resentment, and his hair was a complete mess from sleeping. Every single strand seemed to have a mind of its own, sticking up in every direction.
Bathed in the morning sunlight, he looked a little more innocent and adorably dazed.
Ye Heng had seen all kinds of Tang Mingxi's glamorous appearances outside. In pursuit of perfection, even every button on Tang Mingxi's clothes had been carefully coordinated by a stylist whenever he went out.
This was the first time Ye Heng had seen him like this, wearing only smoky pink silk pajamas, with no makeup at all on his naturally bare face.
Tang Mingxi said irritably, "Where are my slippers?"
Ye Heng lowered his gaze to look at the shoes right beside Tang Mingxi's feet and confirmed that the second young master was throwing a tantrum.
He crouched down halfway and placed both slippers in front of Tang Mingxi.
Tang Mingxi seemed quite pleased by Ye Heng's tactfulness. The bit of morning temper in his heart faded somewhat as he muttered, "It's all your fault. You kept me from sleeping at all last night."
Ye Heng's hand paused, and he looked up at him.
Tang Mingxi seemed not to realize that what he had said was ambiguous.
Ye Heng spoke unhurriedly. "You were too happy to sleep?"
Tang Mingxi: ...
Ye Heng took hold of his pale ankle and methodically put the slippers on him.
Then he said meaningfully, "The way you said that, people will think I'm very impressive."
Fine. Your allowance is gone :)
For the week after returning from Ningcheng Eastern Suburbs, Tang Mingxi had not deigned to say a single word to Ye Heng. Clearly, he had been furious.
He even skipped necessary greetings and no longer called Ye Heng by name. It was either "Hey" or "You there."
Wang Min had always been sharp about this sort of thing. When she noticed that Tang Mingxi had lately been too disdainful even to mention Ye Heng, she immediately adjusted her political stance and firmly joined Tang Mingxi's camp.
However, Ye Heng had to fly to San Francisco to meet clients during this period. His business trip would last a full week, so he and Tang Mingxi did not have much time to see each other.
Tang Mingxi held it in for several days before finally being unable to resist complaining to Wang Min about it on WeChat.
After briefly recounting what had happened, the second young master gave his lofty and cool assessment:
[Is he insane? :)]
When Wang Min saw it, she silently complained to herself.
Was it necessary to be this angry? Wasn't this just your husband flirting with you...
Of course, she absolutely could not say that out loud!
[Exactly, exactly.]
[Men, why are you so ordinary, yet so confident? (cold laugh)]
When Tang Mingxi saw Wang Min's reply, he suddenly felt a little defensive of Ye Heng:
[...He's not that ordinary, though.]
That dog of a male lead might be a dog, but he was still very handsome.
And he could make money too. He was ten thousand times better than most disgusting men in the world :)
Wang Min: ...
Men, why are you so hard to appease?
Tang Mingxi's urge to defend him lasted only five seconds. After that, he began viciously roasting Ye Heng again.
Wang Min could only go along with the angry young master's tantrum:
[No one without ten years of cerebral thrombosis could pull something like that!]
[He must have been too busy at work in the morning. How did he leave his brain at home too!]
[You can skip breakfast, but you absolutely have to bring your brain!]
[Men's heads are detachable. Sometimes they bring them, and sometimes they forget.]
[Next time, you have to remind your husband to bring his brain!]
Only after Second Young Master Tang had finished cursing was he satisfied. He came out of the private swimming pool, waved a hand, and his car pulled up before him, heading all the way toward Mingxi No. 1.
The moment they arrived at the parking garage, Tang Mingxi felt that something was off. There was inexplicably an extra car in the garage.
When he reached the living room, the floor beside the sofa was covered with paper bags of all sizes, filled with luxury brands anyone could recognize.
Tang Mingxi looked up and saw that the dog of a man, who was supposed to be away on a weeklong business trip, was already standing leisurely at the stone island counter rinsing rice.
He wore a white shirt, black pants, and a dark apron tied around his waist, dressed simply and domestically.
The aroma of food was already drifting from the stone island counter.
Tang Mingxi kicked the luxury goods scattered across the floor. The anger in his heart had already faded somewhat, but he still said coldly, "Did the Tang Family go bankrupt and become unable to support you? Did you open up a second path to wealth and switch careers to become a purchasing agent on social media?"
Ye Heng glanced at him. "If you don't like them, you can throw them away."
TVT!
I didn't say I wanted to throw them away!
Dog of a man, you can't even take a joke!
In the end, Tang Mingxi still fell before the sugar-coated bullets.
He clearly knew that Ye Heng's method of buying gifts to coax him was incredibly low-level, but unfortunately, Tang Mingxi admitted that he himself was just that low-level of a person.
Before dinner, he happily sat on the sofa opening his gifts.
There was no need to mention the bags. Some of the ones Ye Heng bought were ones he already owned, while others were limited editions from the current season. Among them, he was especially fond of a tie clip set with a red diamond.
Mainly because the diamond was big enough :)
Tang Mingxi liked things that were big and beautiful :)
Not long ago, he had seen everyone discussing the largest red diamond mined in Botswana on their social feeds. He had not expected Ye Heng to make a special trip to an auction during his business trip. Before long, the red diamond had been cut and set, ending up in his hands.
Tang Mingxi's vanity was quietly at work. He took out his phone and photographed the red diamond tie clip from several angles, preparing to post it to his social feed.
