Background / History

Tang Nuo is the Tang Family's illegitimate son and Tang Mingxi's brother through their father; the two have different mothers. He was brought from poverty into the Tang household as a child, where he endured contempt over his birth and lived in Tang Mingxi's shadow. Their first meeting ended with Tang Mingxi pushing him down the stairs, breaking his leg and chipping a tooth. 3 49 95 169

His relationship with Tang Yun was more complicated. Tang Yun once found the young Tang Nuo injured after he fled the manor, carried him home, and gave him a crushed birthday cake. It was the first time Tang Nuo called anyone “Brother,” and the memory remained central to his attachment to Tang Yun. 170

In his previous life, Tang Nuo developed exceptional business ability but could not inherit the Tang Family because of his illegitimacy. After Tang Mingxi squandered the family fortune and Ye Heng reclaimed his status as the Ye Family heir, Ye Heng destroyed the Tang Family. Secret Aid to Ye Heng

After being reborn, Tang Nuo treats Ye Heng as both the future destroyer of the Tang Family and his route to saving it. He speaks up when Ye Heng is denied tableware, secretly brings him warm clothing, and interprets Ye Heng's refusal to expose him as proof of special affection. 8 9

His efforts are undermined by Tang Mingxi's altered behavior toward Ye Heng. Tang Nuo becomes increasingly alarmed when Ye Heng begins spending time with Tang Mingxi and reacts jealously to the possibility that Ye Heng no longer hates him. 10 43 49

Rise to Acting Chairman

When Tang Yun is injured and the Tang Family faces a succession struggle, Tang Nuo defeats Tang Youwei's faction and becomes acting chairman. His cooperation with Jingyu revives the Tang Family's market value and secures his authority. 91 92

This success leaves Tang Nuo convinced that Tang Mingxi is the last obstacle to his control. When Tang Mingxi reveals awareness of his rebirth and involvement in a murder plot, Tang Nuo drops his gentle façade and admits that his love for Ye Heng has become hatred toward Tang Mingxi. 95

Azure Luo Bay and Tang Mingxi's Disappearance

Tang Nuo reluctantly agrees to Tang Mingxi's proposal to surrender the Tang Family fortune in exchange for help leaving Ningcheng. He is later caught in Li Yuan's kidnapping at Azure Luo Bay, where his terror of death and abandonment becomes unmistakable. 96 97 98

When Tang Mingxi apparently dies after jumping into the sea, Tang Nuo confronts Ye Heng and persuades him to leave Azure Luo Bay by revealing that suitable bone marrow has been found for Ye Yue. 101

Inheritance Conspiracy

Years later, Tang Yun's plan to transfer forty percent of Jun Bai's shares to Tang Mingxi reignites Tang Nuo's resentment. He arranges for Tang Mingxi's assassination through Song Yu; the attack instead critically injures Tang Yun. 167 169

After Tang Mingxi suspends him from Jun Bai, Tang Nuo drugs Tang Yun, abducts him from the hospital, and joins Song Yu's attempt to force a revised will naming him sole heir to the Tang Family assets. 171 172

Death

During the rescue at Tang Family Manor, Song Yu attempts to shoot Tang Yun after forcing his thumbprint onto the forged will. Tang Nuo instinctively shields Tang Yun and receives a fatal wound to the chest. 173

He apologizes to Tang Yun, begs not to be hated, and staggers through the snow toward the manor gates with Tang Mingxi's support. Before dying, he wishes that there will be no rebirth for him in another life. He is buried beside his mother rather than in the Tang Family cemetery. 173
