On the outskirts of Mt. Moon, an Officer Jenny rode an Arcanine as she patrolled back and forth through the area.
Officer Jenny looked to be in her thirties or forties. Her features were resolute, and her brows carried the composure and efficiency forged by time.
Her uniform was covered in dust, and a fine layer of sweat beaded on her forehead, but her eyes remained as sharp as an eagle's, fixed firmly on Mt. Moon.
The Arcanine beneath her was far larger than others of its kind, nearly four meters at the shoulder, its body covered in magnificent orange-and-black fur. Its fluffy mane drifted slightly in the wind.
Its four paws stepped steadily upon the ground, every stride firm and powerful, carrying an imposing Aura as though it was not carrying out a mission, but patrolling its own territory.
Its black eyes glimmered faintly in the darkness, the towering outline of Mt. Moon reflected deep within its pupils.
Its ears twitched from time to time, catching every subtle sound coming from the depths of the mountain range.
After Officer Jenny finished patrolling the final stretch outside the perimeter on Arcanine, she gently patted its neck.
Arcanine understood at once, slowing its pace before turning back and trotting toward the defensive line.
Behind her, dozens of officers and temporarily requisitioned Trainers were directing hundreds of Pokémon as they nervously constructed the defense.
"Quick! Reinforce this Rock Wall with another layer, Golem!"
"Onix, move to the left! The cliff over there is too thin—it needs to be thickened!"
"Gardevoir, keep sensing! Report immediately if a large number of energy signatures approach!"
Orders rang out one after another through the night, accompanied by the low responses of Pokémon and the hum of techniques being unleashed.
Under their Trainers' commands, the enormous Onix
