One human and one Pokémon sat side by side, their fishing rods secured to stands as the floats bobbed gently on the sea.
Before long, Eevee came running over with Charmander, Axew, and Weedle.
"Eevee!" Eevee crouched beside Xinhai's feet, her large brown eyes curiously watching the float on the water while her fluffy tail swayed softly behind her. "Eevee?" (Xinhai, have you caught a fish yet?)
"I only just cast the line. How could it be that fast?" Xinhai said with a smile, rubbing her little head.
Eevee tilted her head and thought for a moment. Then her eyes suddenly lit up, and she cried excitedly at Xinhai, "Eevee!" (Xinhai! I want to fish too!)
Xinhai turned his head at her words. Seeing Eevee's eager little expression, he could not help laughing.
"Do you know how to fish?"
"Eevee!" Eevee nodded vigorously, her brown eyes full of confidence. "Eevee!" (Of course I do! Watch me!)
Xinhai smiled and shook his head. He took out a set of fishing gear from his Spatial Backpack, assembled the rod, baited the hook, and handed it to Eevee.
"Take it. Your little paws won't be able to hold it steady, though, so use Confusion to control it."
"Eevee!" Eevee nodded firmly and used Confusion to take the fishing rod from Xinhai.
The rod was several times longer than her entire body. It swayed awkwardly in midair, looking rather comical.
But she quickly adjusted its angle, imitated Xinhai's movements, and cast the line into the sea. Then she sat beside Gardevoir, her brown eyes fixed intently on her own float.
When Charmander and Axew saw Eevee pick up a fishing rod as well, the two little ones immediately ran over.
"Char!" (I want to as well!)
"Axew!" (Me too!)
