After the passenger ship docked, Xinhai led his companions off the boat and found a nice-looking breakfast shop in Petalburg City, where they enjoyed a piping-hot breakfast together.

A plate of specially prepared fiery spicy soup was set in front of Charmander. The flame on its tail burned a little brighter than usual, clearly showing how satisfied it was.

Axew, meanwhile, had developed a particular fondness for a bowl of Berry oatmeal porridge. It held the bowl in its tiny claws, its purplish-red eyes narrowing into two satisfied slits.

Eevee used a small spoon to scoop up the fruit puree in front of it, its large brown eyes curving into crescent moons.

Xinhai had ordered a bowl of Berry porridge for himself. He sipped it leisurely while gazing through the floor-to-ceiling window at the pedestrians who had already begun bustling about in the street.

The breakfast shop's proprietress was a middle-aged woman in her fifties. When she saw Xinhai eating with his Pokémon, she happily brought over an extra plate of fragrant pan-fried fish steaks. "Young man, your Pokémon look so full of spirit."

"Thank you, Auntie." Xinhai smiled and thanked her before dividing the fish steaks between Charmander and Axew.

After breakfast, Xinhai paid the bill and left the shop.

He did not linger in Petalburg City. He took a folding bicycle out of his Spatial Backpack and unfolded it, placed Charmander and Axew in the basket, and let Gardevoir float down onto the rear seat. Eevee and Weedle lay across his shoulders, one on each side.

The bicycle followed Petalburg City's main road south. It passed through the increasingly sparse urban buildings and entered the country road leading to Orange East Village.
