Edward flared up. "What did you say!?"

Just then, something began to writhe strangely in the darkness around them.

It was as though the thick darkness had suddenly come alive, stirring around the Holy Temple.

As the darkness churned, scarlet points of light appeared within it.

They were not eyes in the dark. They looked more like beams of light.

Soon, the darkness formed one enormous, shapeless mass after another.

They writhed and rolled violently, then vanished.

With the solid darkness gone, Evan saw blood-red light illuminate the entire area.

Under its glow, he could finally make out the whole underground palace.

The space was immense. Evan felt as though he were not underground at all, but in a world of its own.

The ceiling stood a full two hundred meters high, covered in countless intricate runes.

The floor alone spanned a hundred square kilometers!

Across that vast expanse stood a sprawling, magnificent complex of buildings.

The entire palace had been carved from a white stone.

Its style conveyed a sacred, solemn devotion.

Towering Deity Statues stood everywhere, alongside relief-covered pillars and ceilings painted with epic scenes...

But the complex had fallen into ruin. Scars of slaughter, fire, and plunder lay everywhere.

Time and old blood had stained the once-white stone dark.
