Ten years later.
Sabaody Archipelago, Shakky's Rip-off Bar.
Yake was cleaning the bar. Shakky, who had barely changed at all, sat at the counter smoking and reading the newspaper.
After Shakky and Rayleigh had saved him, Yake had won Shakky over with the innocent, adorable face of a child. Shakky had taken him in as her adopted son. As for Rayleigh, Yake usually called him Dad.
"Mom, anything fun happening today?" After finishing the cleaning, Yake sat at the counter, boredly playing with a ball of lightning in his hand and molding it into various shapes.
Yake was now eighteen years old, standing 2.15 meters tall with a body full of hard muscle and fair, smooth skin. Back on Blue Star, he would have been at least as handsome as Daniel Wu. After ten years of instruction and training from Rayleigh, his professional mentor and Dad, it was no exaggeration to say that Yake, with the powers of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, already had the confidence to roam these seas.
To become a powerhouse standing at the peak of these seas, a powerful physique was fundamental. Because Yake understood this deeply, he had developed Lightning Body Tempering. It could continuously improve his constitution and strengthen his muscles, while also transforming every cell in his body, providing him with an endless supply of stamina.
Besides his powerful physique, Yake had mastered all Three Haki Colors at the age of eighteen. Observation Haki with a greater range than Enel's in the original story, Armament Haki that could be freely infused and cause internal destruction, and even the Conqueror's Haki possessed by only one in a million—Yake had awakened it by chance as well.
As for Devil Fruit development, Rayleigh could not teach him much. Yake had relied entirely on his wild imagination, giving Rayleigh quite a few scares.
"Ah, little Yake wants to set sail? Looks like you can't wait any longer!" Shakky looked at the adopted son she had raised for ten years. She had long treated him as her own and spoiled him terribly. Fortunately, Yake had already formed his own values, or Shakky would truly have spoiled him rotten.
"Mom, you were the one who said I could go to sea when I turned eighteen, okay? You're not allowed to go back on your word!" Yake rolled his eyes and said irritably.
"Hahaha, of course not. When are you leaving? I'll pack your things for you." Shakky smiled faintly. She had naturally anticipated this day, but with her child traveling far from home, she could not help worrying.
"No need, Mom. I have money. I want to set sail on my own and form my own pirate crew!" Yake waved a hand, indicating that he did not need it.
"You've always had your own ideas. Take these." Shakky took several Eternal Poses from a drawer and placed them on the table.
"Mom, I'm ready to make some huge news and let the whole world know I exist! Don't be too surprised when the time comes!" Yake grinned, seemingly prepared long ago.
"Fine, then I'll wait for your good news. Aren't you going to say goodbye to Rayleigh?" Shakky sighed. She had long grown used to Yake's ways.
"No need. I already told Dad. I'm leaving, Mom!" Yake pocketed all the pointers and transformed into particles of electricity, vanishing from the spot.
"The child has grown up. I can't keep him anymore..." Lighting a cigarette, tears unconsciously slid down Shakky's cheeks, but she quickly wiped them away.
It was now the year 1517 of the Age of the Sea. Ace was seventeen and had just set sail to make his way across the seas. Luffy was fourteen and still in Foosha Village, preparing to go to sea. By the timeline, Yake had made his debut in the same year as Ace.
After disappearing from Shakky's Rip-off Bar, Yake arrived at Grove 1 of the Sabaody Archipelago. This was where human trafficking shops, slave auctions, lawless zones, and similar places were gathered. Through Yake's Observation Haki, it was the place that disgusted him most, as though all the darkness in the world had gathered here.
When Yake was twelve, Rayleigh had tricked him into selling himself to make some money. Wearing an explosive collar in the auction house, Yake had awakened Conqueror's Haki. According to Rayleigh, Yake had been delicate and adorable, and many noblewomen, even Celestial Dragons, had competed to bid on him. At the time, Yake's eyes had burned with uncontrollable rage, and he had unleashed Conqueror's Haki on the spot, knocking out everyone across the entire island. It was because of that that Rayleigh had resolved to properly teach Yake.
Although he had awakened Conqueror's Haki here, Yake did not feel even the slightest gratitude toward this place. Instead, he often reminded himself not to impulsively destroy it and bring trouble to Shakky and Rayleigh. But today was different.
Still, this place was not Yake's primary target today. The true source of evil was the so-called Celestial Dragons. Without them, the slave trade would not be so rampant.
Disguised as a guest, Yake entered the slave auction. Today's main attraction was a catwoman from the Mink Tribe, and the promotional flyer had highlighted several large words.
Yake roughly scanned today's auction items. Most were slaves, and there was nothing that interested him. Naturally, the finale was the Mink Tribe catwoman. Yake sat in his seat with his eyes closed, waiting for today's important figure to appear.
"Let us welcome the honorable World Noble, Saint Charlos, to our auction..." the host announced exaggeratedly, his tone filled with fawning flattery.
Charlos, wearing a transparent glass helmet and with snot running from his nose, rode into the auction hall atop his human slave. Several vicious-looking bodyguards in black surrounded him as he swaggered toward the VIP seats.
"Hurry up and start. I want that catwoman as my slave. Shalria will be jealous to death. Don't make me wait too long!" Charlos sniffled and said impatiently.
The host hurriedly nodded and bowed, ordering his subordinates to begin the auction at once. The first to be brought out was a male pirate covered in scars, his eyes dull as though he had already become a puppet devoid of will.
"No matter how many times I see it, Celestial Dragon trash still makes me feel utterly sick." Yake made no effort to hide his disgust toward the Celestial Dragons, thinking that he would let Charlos enjoy himself a little longer. After all, he was a key figure in Yake's planned event.
As the auction continued, it was finally time for the finale: the catwoman from the Mink Tribe. Yake opened his eyes wide and looked over. A white cat-eared girl sat pitifully in a cage, tear streaks still on her face. Her clothes were tattered beyond repair, and the faintly exposed skin made the nobles present flush with excitement. They breathed heavily through their nostrils, their reddened eyes especially crazed.
"I bid ten million Beli! I'm going to have my way with her, then turn her into a specimen and hang her on my wall! Hahaha!" An old man who looked like a noble shouted madly, completely forgetting that a Celestial Dragon was present.
Charlos was furious. After waiting for so long, someone actually dared compete with him.
"You damn bastard! The catwoman is mine! Die!" He pulled out a pistol on the spot and fired repeatedly at the old man. Only after killing several innocent nobles did he finally manage to shoot the old man down.
The auction hall had descended into chaos. Screams and cries filled the air as the remaining nobles scrambled to flee.
"Twenty million Beli. I want this catwoman. Bring her to me." Charlos smugly handed his gun to a subordinate and rubbed his hands together as he walked toward the catwoman.
"Heh. Trash like Celestial Dragons shouldn't exist in this world. Banshō Ten'in." Yake spoke calmly, though beneath that calm exterior hid towering fury. He raised his left hand, and Charlos's body flew uncontrollably toward him.
When Charlos flew over, Yake clamped a hand around his neck, crushing the glass helmet in the process, and lifted him high into the air. Charlos struggled constantly, pounding on Yake's body in an attempt to make him stop.
"Call the Marines. Have them come save their... master. Otherwise, this piece of trash really will die." Yake sneered at the Celestial Dragon's bodyguards. The Celestial Dragon in his hand had already fallen unconscious and could no longer struggle.
"You've got some nerve! Release Saint Charlos now, or you'll die without a burial!" one bodyguard in black shouted in terror. The other guards had already taken out their Telephone Snails, their faces filled with panic.
"Don't panic. The show is just beginning..." Yake revealed a meaningful smile.
