Yake nodded, confirming that he had truly crossed into another universe, then turned and left.

"Looks like it worked?"

Robin saw the smile all over Yake's face and immediately knew the result.

"Not bad. Pretty convenient."

In the universe.

Upon a golden throne suspended in the void, a small purple giant sat with his back to the Chitauri commander. His tone was calm, without the slightest anger over his own failure. This attitude enraged the Chitauri commander below, yet there was nothing he could do.

Thanos's reputation had long spread throughout the universe. He was merely one of Thanos's lackeys. It was his own people who had died—what did that have to do with Thanos?

"My apologies, Lord Thanos. Give me some time, and I'll create a vast number of Clone Soldiers. Next time, I'll definitely conquer Earth!"

"Sorry, child. Failures do not get a second chance."

Thanos waved his hand, and Ebony Maw, standing beside him, revealed a cruel smile.

"No, Thanos, you can't do this to me! Damn it! You demon!"

Amid the Chitauri commander's curses, a stone spike pierced his skull, spilling sticky green blood all over the ground.

"Hm~ It seems Earth has produced quite an extraordinary enemy. Still, destiny remains with me."

Thanos gazed at the distant stars and muttered to himself. He had long heard the rumors about Earth—the new Sorcerer Supreme and her companion had already gained a certain reputation across the universe.

Thanos knew he was no match for them, but he had seen this sort of situation far too many times. He was not entirely without a chance. The Mind Stone he had painstakingly acquired was as good as gone, but as long as he obtained the other Stones...
