While Goku and Bulma were chatting with Master Roshi, Krillin and Launch returned to the island in a submarine. Reunited after a long time apart, Krillin and Goku exchanged a few pleasantries and talked about how their training had been going.
Goku mentioned that he and Bulma needed to use the submarine to search for a Dragon Ball buried beneath the sea. Krillin's eyes lit up when he heard that. "I heard there's pirate treasure hidden down there too! Why don't we take a look while we're at it?" At the mention of "treasure," Bulma eagerly agreed as well.
They boarded the submarine and readied the equipment. Goku, Bulma, and Krillin focused intently as they headed toward the target waters.
Not long after the three left, a deafening roar suddenly rang out over Master Roshi's island. Several Red Ribbon Army planes circled overhead, followed by a group of uniformed soldiers descending from the aircraft.
A soldier who appeared to be the leader stepped forward and said to Master Roshi, "Old man, we know you're the doctor who made the Dragon Radar. Come with us quietly, unless you want to suffer!"
Master Roshi smiled faintly and stroked his beard. Rather than showing any fear, he calmly replied, "You've got the wrong idea. I'm not a doctor."
The soldiers clearly did not believe him and raised their weapons in threat. Master Roshi calmly removed his sunglasses, releasing a powerful aura.
"Looks like I'll have to stretch my limbs a little." He moved in a flash, his body as swift as lightning, and felled every soldier with several rapid motions. The soldiers had no way to resist. In the blink of an eye, they were all sprawled on the ground, leaving only one soldier trembling in terror.
Master Roshi dusted off his hands and ordered, "Hey, kid. Drag all these people away." The soldier hurriedly nodded, shakily hauling the fallen men back onto the plane before fleeing the island with what remained of the unit.
Goku, Bulma, and Krillin guided the submarine slowly into the entrance of an undersea cave. The cave was dark and mysterious, with patches of moss and strange marine life faintly visible. As the searchlight swept over the rocky walls, Bulma suddenly spotted the Dragon Ball.
"Look, the Dragon Ball is over there!" Bulma pointed at it excitedly. Goku immediately swam over and carefully tucked it away. Bulma nodded happily, then said curiously, "The pirate treasure might be deeper inside the cave. Want to go look for it?"
The three immediately agreed and decided to venture deeper into the cave. They climbed out of the submarine and entered the cavern. At the same time, General Blue and his soldiers slowly followed behind them. His men cautiously walked ahead of him to scout the way. The cave was filled with dangerous mechanisms, and the soldiers accidentally triggered hidden traps one after another—sharp stone spears sprang from the floors and walls, while spinning iron hammers came hurtling toward them. One soldier after another was struck by the traps, crying out in agony.
General Blue watched coldly from behind, letting his soldiers clear the obstacles for him. Expressionless, he walked past every fallen body and eventually made it through the layers of traps.
Meanwhile, Goku and the others had already passed through all the traps safely. They found themselves in a vast, ruined underground harbor. In the dim light, they could make out the remains of decaying docks. The air carried an ancient, stale atmosphere, as though this place had once been some gang's secret base.
Bulma widened her eyes as she examined the ancient ruins. "This looks like an abandoned harbor base," she murmured. "Maybe there really is treasure here."
A towering pirate patrol robot suddenly emerged from the darkness. Its mechanical eyes flashed red as it locked onto the three of them. The robot swiftly raised its weapon and attacked.
Goku reacted instantly, charging forward and throwing a fierce punch straight through the patrol robot's attack. The machine was torn into countless fragments by the force of the blow. At that moment, the walls of the entire base began to shake. The rocks started to crack, and rubble continuously rained down from the ceiling.
"Run!" Goku shouted, grabbing Bulma and Krillin as he sped toward the corridor ahead. After passing through it, the three reached a deeper hidden chamber. It was dark and mysterious, with a dry scent lingering in the air.
Bulma pointed at the floor of the chamber. "There's the sound of running water down there. It's an underground river!"
Goku looked at the underground river, excitement flashing in his eyes. "The treasure is on the other side. Let's go check it out!"
The three quickly jumped into the river. Bulma carefully clung to Goku's shoulder, with Krillin close behind. They swam swiftly through the rushing current and finally reached the other side safely.
General Blue followed close behind. Though all his soldiers had fallen to the traps, he refused to give up. He leaped into the underground river and gritted his teeth as he pursued Goku and the others.
Just as Goku, Bulma, and Krillin climbed ashore, they saw three ancient treasure chests before them. Behind the chests stood a towering statue with a majestic appearance. Its twelve arms each held a different weapon, as if it had been guarding this treasure for years. Bulma's eyes sparkled, and Krillin swallowed hard as the three approached the chests.
The statue's eyes suddenly glowed red. All twelve arms swung at once, launching the weapons in their hands directly at Goku and the others. Goku swiftly drew the Power Pole and spun it at high speed, forming a barrier that deflected every flying blade and sword. The sounds of metal clashing rang out endlessly as fragments scattered everywhere.
Goku snorted coldly, then leaped into the air and gripped the Power Pole tightly before bringing it down hard upon the statue. With a deafening BANG—, the statue cracked apart. Stone fragments peeled away, followed by countless dazzling gems, gold, silver, and jewels spilling across the ground in an instant.
Bulma's eyes went wide as she shouted excitedly, "So many treasures! Quick, put them in the capsules!"
Goku smiled and urged Bulma on. Without hesitation, she took out Capsule Corp capsules from her pocket and stored the scattered treasure inside. Krillin joined in as well.
A huge splash suddenly erupted from the water as General Blue leaped out of the underground river. He stared at them with a sinister expression and sneered, "Brats, hand over the Dragon Ball and the treasure, or don't even think about leaving this place alive!"
Krillin clenched his fists and stepped forward confidently. "Goku, let me handle him!"
The moment he spoke, Krillin charged at General Blue and struck out with a rapid punch. However, General Blue reacted just as quickly, shifting aside to evade the attack before driving a fist into Krillin's stomach. Krillin staggered back several steps, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Krillin gritted his teeth through the pain, rage igniting in his eyes. He sprang into the air, gathered all his strength, and drove a vicious kick into General Blue's face. Caught off guard, General Blue was knocked to the ground, several bloody marks appearing across the side of his face.
When General Blue rose again, his face was twisted with fury. Deeply warped at heart, he was not only greedy for treasure but also possessed an almost pathological obsession with cleanliness. Seeing his neat, pristine face battered and bloodied drove him into a complete rage.
"You disgusting little brat!" General Blue roared, activating his psychic power. An invisible force instantly locked Krillin in place. His limbs stiffened, leaving him completely unable to move no matter how he struggled.
General Blue sneered and raised his hand, ready to kill Krillin. But Goku suddenly flashed forward and threw a punch, striking General Blue squarely in the chest. General Blue was blasted away at once, crashing into the rock wall as his life came to an end.
Krillin let out a breath of relief and stared at Goku in astonishment. "Goku, you're even stronger than you were at the World Martial Arts Tournament! It's unbelievable!"
Goku smiled faintly, but before he could answer, the cave began to tremble again, and rocks started falling from above. Bulma cried out, "Oh no! This place is collapsing!"
The three immediately split up and packed the treasure scattered across the ground into capsules. Bulma urged them, "Hurry! If we don't leave now, we'll be buried in here!"
Without hesitation, the three raced back along the path they had taken, dodging falling rocks and mud.
Goku, Bulma, and Krillin rushed to the entrance and quickly climbed into the submarine. The moment Goku shut the hatch, Bulma started the engine and sped toward the surface.
Through the side windows of the submarine, they could see the massive shockwave caused by the cave-in. Mud and shattered rocks churned up the water into a cloudy torrent, like an underwater storm raging beyond the glass. Krillin sighed in relief and leaned back in his seat. "Good thing we got out in time. Otherwise, we really would've been buried in there!"
Bulma patted the capsule case filled with treasure, a satisfied smile appearing on her face. "It was dangerous, but we still came away with a huge haul!"
