A few hours after Water 7's tsunami subsided, the sea train could not wait to resume operations.
The sea rails wound across the azure surface like a giant python. Sunlight spilled down, gilding the wet tracks with a golden edge. The station was packed with people, and citizens who had survived the disaster carried large and small bags, their faces still bearing the lingering relief of having escaped death.
"Attention, passengers. The train bound for Enies Lobby is about to depart—"
The station attendant's call was drowned out by the noisy crowd.
Dawn stood before the ticket window and pulled out money to buy five tickets.
"F-four tickets?"
The ticket clerk's hand trembled as she looked up at the man before her. From her perspective, there were only three people in front of her.
"Is there a problem?"
Dawn raised a brow.
"N-no!"
The ticket clerk hurriedly tore off four tickets.
"H-have a safe trip!"
Dawn took the tickets and turned toward the platform, followed by two women. At the front was a tall white-haired girl with a pair of curved horns on her head. Her large eyes sparkled as she looked everywhere, like a beast freshly released from its cage, bursting with endless energy.
The original plan had been for the crew of David's Revenge to sail directly to Enies Lobby, but because of her strong insistence, the itinerary was changed at the last minute. The group took the sea train while the others continued sailing according to the original plan.
Dawn reached out and pressed a hand on her head, stopping the overly curious woman from darting onto the tracks.
