"Nicely done, Uta."
Adams's voice was gentle and magnetic.
"You've grown quite a bit stronger. It seems you haven't slacked off during this time. You've worked very hard."
Feeling the warmth and approval from above her head, the tiny grievance in Uta's heart immediately vanished. She hurriedly said:
"Hehe, I want to be able to help Brother Adams sooner! I want to use my strength to help you create that wonderful New World!"
A trace of gratification flashed through Adams's eyes as he ruffled her hair.
"How dependable."
"Brother Adams! I've worked hard too!"
Perona ran over excitedly, tilting up her little face with an expectant look.
Adams smiled and extended his other hand, gently ruffling Perona's pink head as well.
"Mm, I saw. That Spirit Form ability was excellent. You did very well too, Perona."
Perona immediately beamed at the praise and smugly glanced at Uta.
Just then, with a soft whoosh, a tall, nimble figure appeared at the edge of the field using Soru.
Tina habitually held an unlit lady's cigarette between her lips. Looking at the harmonious scene before her, the corners of her mouth rose slightly as she teasingly said:
"Looks like I came at the wrong time?"
Adams stood and looked at Tina, the smile in his eyes deepening.
"No, you came at exactly the right time."
Tina, who had often been introduced by Adams to localized versions of jokes from his previous life in the evenings, instantly understood. Two blushes rose on her cheeks, and she lightly spat before saying:
"Now isn't the time for... that kind of thing! Come on, business first. I have some interesting moves to show you."
With that, she leaped forward and landed lightly in the center of the field, battle intent burning in her eyes.
