Giant Turtle Floating Island, research institute.
After Adams brought Reiju back to headquarters, he immediately took her here. For what was about to happen, Reiju changed into one of Adams's spare shirts. The huge garment hung loosely on her, its sleeves and hem far too long, making her look even more small and helpless, like a child wearing an adult's clothes.
Along the way, through Adams's brief explanation, Reiju had already realized that her father had offered her to this powerful, terrifying man as a gift of surrender.
She was despondent, her eyes dim, filled with fear and confusion about the future. She merely followed in silence, not daring to ask a single question.
Inside the research institute's control room, Adams looked at Atlas.
"Doctor, sorry for the trouble, but please perform a maturation procedure on her. Also, scan for and remove any control programs or backdoors that may exist in her mind."
Atlas looked at Reiju, who wore ill-fitting clothes and had a frightened expression.
Adams briefly explained her origins and the possible modifications Judge had made to her.
When Atlas finished listening, obvious grief and indignation appeared on her face. Sharing the same memories as Vegapunk's main body, she naturally knew Judge, once a colleague on the MADS research team.
She had never expected that this once extraordinarily talented scientist would fall so low. Not only had he experimented on clones, he had even subjected his own flesh and blood to cruel Lineage Factor modifications.
After steadying her anger and regret, Atlas forced what she believed was a kindly smile.
"Child, don't be afraid. You're safe here. Come with me. We need to give you a thorough physical examination and make some... minor adjustments. It will be good for you."
