Ch. 41After the Battle

  • Lu Qianshan reported that they had killed seventy-six bandits, and Yang Yi ordered the spoils distributed and double compensation paid to the fallen men’s families.
  • Qin Siniang warned that Cloud Leopard might have sent for reinforcements, and Yang Yi learned that Black Wind Stronghold’s chief, Hu Zhang, had entered True Blood two years earlier.
  • Yang Yi wrote a letter about their victory for Young Lady Qiao and gave it to Lu Qianshan to deliver.
  • Lu Qianshan arranged a room for Yang Yi and offered to send women to attend him, but Yang Yi refused and ordered him to strengthen the night patrol.
  • Yang Yi found a woman lying beneath the blanket in his room, covered her again, and walked outside with blood on his hand.

Ch. 42Siniang's Good Intentions

  • Lu Qianshan arrived that evening and told Yang Yi he had a secret to offer him.

Ch. 43Falling Moon Cave on Falling Moon Peak

Yang Yi learned that Lu Qianshan’s sword gained a blood-breaking effect from Moonlight Essence at Falling Moon Peak. Lu Qianshan revealed the hidden pit where weapons could be bathed in the moonlight, and Yang Yi saw the strange phenomenon for himself.

  • Yang Yi tested Lu Qianshan’s sword against his Mountain Suppression defense and found it sharper and more effective at breaking blood and qi than a Hundred-Forged Iron blade.
  • Lu Qianshan led Yang Yi from Falling Moon Market to Falling Moon Peak and explained the legends of moonfall radiance there.
  • Lu Qianshan showed Yang Yi a deep pit and led him to a spot where a beam of moonlight reached its bottom.
  • Yang Yi saw a saber and a sword beneath the beam, and Lu Qianshan explained that weapons left there gained sharpness and a blood-breaking effect.

Ch. 44The Wonders of Moonlight Essence

Yang Yi learned that the Moonlight Essence strengthened weapons, and Lu Qianshan gave him two weapons tempered there for years while pledging his loyalty. After Lu Qianshan left, Yang Yi sensed the Moonlight Essence, and the Source Crystal in his consciousness suddenly reacted.

  • Lu Qianshan told Yang Yi that weapons bathed in Moonlight Essence grew sharper and gained the ability to break blood, and offered him the saber and sword kept there for nearly ten years.
  • Yang Yi questioned why Lu Qianshan had entrusted the secret to him rather than the Qiao Household, and Lu Qianshan said he feared the household might kill him to silence him.
  • Lu Qianshan explained that he and Shi Zhongtang had cultivated beneath the Moonlight Essence without benefit, then left after Yang Yi ordered him to stop anyone who came to investigate.
  • Yang Yi examined the weapons and sensed that the Moonlight Essence was a land of providence for weapons, then stood beneath it to test its effects.
  • The Source Crystal wrapped in Golden Light in Yang Yi's consciousness glimmered, and a sudden change erupted.

Ch. 45Divine Weapon

Yang Yi used the Source Crystal to intensify the Moonlight Essence at Falling Moon Peak, transforming a saber and sword into powerful Divine Weapons. He returned to Stone Manor with the weapons and chose not to guard the pit, keeping the Source Crystal’s importance to himself.

  • Lu Qianshan saw a beam of Moonlight Essence descend into the pit and alerted no one, while Shen Qian and Qin Siniang led people toward Falling Moon Peak to investigate.
  • Yang Yi watched the Moonlight Essence flow into the saber and sword, gradually transforming them as Qin Siniang, Shen Qian, and Lu Qianshan waited above.
  • When the weapons stopped absorbing Moonlight Essence, Yang Yi cut off his connection to the Source Crystal and tested the weapons’ greatly improved sharpness and power.
  • Yang Yi refused Lu Qianshan’s suggestion to seal off the pit, then returned to Stone Manor with Qin Siniang, Shen Qian, and the two weapons.

Ch. 46Passing On the Art

Yang Yi taught Qin Siniang, Shen Qian, and Lu Qianshan his Body Tempering Technique, strengthening the allies who would work with him in Falling Moon Market. After sending Lu Qianshan back to guard the stronghold, Yang Yi began restoring himself and considered how his companions could support future missions.

  • After everyone ate, Yang Yi announced that he would teach them his Body Tempering Technique.
  • Yang Yi reassured Qin Siniang that the Qiao Household had allowed him to pass on the art, then demonstrated it to her, Shen Qian, and Lu Qianshan.
  • Shen Qian and Qin Siniang praised the technique, while Lu Qianshan wept and vowed to serve Yang Yi after recalling his former master's exploitation.
  • Lu Qianshan revealed that he had killed his master after reaching Lan Blood, then Yang Yi ordered him to return to the stronghold and guard it against Black Wind Stronghold.
  • Qin Siniang and Shen Qian left to rest, and Yang Yi began restoring himself while reflecting on how stronger allies could help with future work.

Ch. 47Faith

Yang Yi strengthened his growing group and their weapons at Falling Moon Peak while the Qiao Household received his report of rapid victories at Falling Moon Market. Qiao Yaoyao confirmed the letter was his and considered that his unusual strength might explain the claims.

  • Yang Yi studied the Azure Sea Tidal Saber Art and decided to strengthen his companions' weapons with Source Crystals at Falling Moon Peak.
  • A beam of light descended into the pit as Shen Qian and the others watched, confirming that the anomaly was connected to Yang Yi.
  • At Qiao Family Fort, Qiao Yaoyao declined Second Uncle Qiao's offer to lead troops to Heavenly Saber Gorge and said Wuliang should continue recovering.
  • Qiao Yaoyao received Yang Yi's letter reporting that he and his companions had killed Duan Hong and Shi Zhongtang, seized the Falling Moon Market stronghold, and slain Cloud Leopard and more than seventy bandits.
  • After Qiao Yingquan brought Yang Yi's signed supply list, Qiao Yaoyao confirmed the letter's handwriting and suggested his strength exceeded that of an ordinary Lan Blood.

Ch. 48This Is Too Absurd

After Yang Yi secured Falling Moon Market, Qiao Yaoyao monitored Hu Zhang and sent Yang Yi Messenger Birds while he waited to return for the Yin-Yang Pool. When Zhou Hai was injured in a clash, Hu Zhang was left free to head toward Falling Moon Market, and Qiao Yaoyao hurried to warn Yang Yi.

  • Qiao Yaoyao ordered Zhou Hai to watch Hu Zhang after learning that Yang Yi had taken Falling Moon Market and defeated two Black Wind Stronghold chieftains.
  • Yang Yi returned to Stone Manor, rested, and spent the following days cultivating and studying swordsmanship with Shen Qian and Lu Qianshan.

  • Yang Yi blocked Hu Zhang’s first punch, then was driven back and injured by Hu Zhang’s next two punches.
  • Yang Yi rose from the rubble and invited Hu Zhang to fight again.

Ch. 50Take the Blade, Sir

Yang Yi battled Hu Zhang, using the Moonlight Essence Sword to cut apart Hu Zhang’s spear before Hu Zhang shattered the sword with a True Blood-powered strike. Lu Qianshan threw Yang Yi the Moonlight Essence Blade, and the chapter left Yang Yi and Hu Zhang trading attacks as Yang Yi slashed at Hu Zhang’s arm and Hu Zhang committed to a punch.

  • Hu Zhang attacked Yang Yi with his Hundred-Forged Iron spear, but Yang Yi cut off its spearhead and sliced the shaft apart with the Moonlight Essence Sword.
  • Yang Yi pressed Hu Zhang with the Drizzling Night Rain Sword, but Hu Zhang’s True Blood speed and reactions kept him from landing a decisive strike.
  • Hu Zhang closed in and shattered the Moonlight Essence Sword with a palm strike, leaving both fighters to continue bare-handed.
  • After Hu Zhang knocked Yang Yi away, Lu Qianshan threw him the Moonlight Essence Blade and charged Hu Zhang, who punched him aside.
  • Yang Yi took up the blade and, after five exchanges, slashed at Hu Zhang’s arm as Hu Zhang chose to attack rather than dodge.
