Passing On the Art
After a busy night, everyone was hungry.
Yang Yi had the servants prepare food and bring it up, and they first ate their fill.
Only after eating and drinking their fill did Yang Yi slowly speak. "Everyone, I intend to pass on the Body Tempering Technique I cultivate to you!"
The moment those words fell, Qin Siniang and Shen Qian's eyes lit up.
Yang Yi was so young, yet so powerful. What was the root of it?
It was because his qi and blood were purer and more condensed than others'. Thus, when wielding the same amount of qi and blood, the power of his attacks was greater than anyone else's.
Simply put, the quality of his qi and blood was higher.
The differences in the quality of each person's qi and blood stemmed from the Body Tempering Arts they cultivated. Superior Body Tempering Arts could often produce qi and blood of higher quality, speed up cultivation, and make it easier to break through to True Blood.
Qin Siniang and Shen Qian had come from Qiao Family Fort. They had previously heard faint rumors that Yang Yi had presented the Qiao Household with an exceptionally profound Body Tempering Art. The Qiao Household later intended to open this art to its Attendants as well, but only Grade-A Attendants were eligible, and they needed sufficient merit to exchange for it.
Grade-B Attendants like them had no chance for the time being.
And even if they did have the chance, the merit required to exchange for such a Body Tempering Art would be enormous. They might not be able to scrape it together.
Thus, although Qin Siniang and Shen Qian knew that Yang Yi possessed an exceptionally profound Body Tempering Art, they had never asked about it. Every person's Body Tempering Art was the foundation upon which they stood. It was either a Lineage inheritance or shared only with those bound by the closest ties. Who would reveal it so casually to others?
Who would have thought that such a fine thing would suddenly fall onto their heads?
Lu Qianshan was even more excited. He immediately rose to his feet. "This subordinate thanks you, my lord!"
He had wholeheartedly submitted to Yang Yi because he saw the potential Yang Yi had displayed. Last night, he had even revealed Falling Moon Peak's secret. Never had he imagined that, in the blink of an eye, he would receive such a benefit!
For a moment, he felt that his choice had been incomparably correct!
Had it not been for his performance last night, even if Yang Yi had been willing to pass on the Body Tempering Art today, Lu Qianshan likely would not have received a share.
It was precisely because he had made the right choice that he now received this reward!
His earlier praise that Yang Yi rewarded merit had not been wrong at all.
And this was only the beginning. Better days still lay ahead.
Qin Siniang suddenly looked worried. "Yang Yi, I heard that you gave this Body Tempering Art to the Qiao Household. If you pass it on to us now..."
"It's fine. When I gave the Body Tempering Technique to Miss Qiao, I told her that if I needed to in the future, the Qiao Household could not stop me from passing this art on to others. Of course, I would need to report it to the Qiao Household afterward. You all count as members of the Qiao Household now, so there will be no problem on Miss Qiao's end if I teach you."
"That's good!" Qin Siniang finally relaxed.
"Come on. I'll demonstrate it once, and you follow along. If there's anything you don't understand, just ask me." As Yang Yi spoke, he walked into the courtyard.
All three followed eagerly.
This was not Yang Yi's first time doing this. He was now quite experienced, and the three people in the courtyard were all at the Lan Blood realm. Compared to Yang Yong, that block of elm wood, they were countless times cleverer.
Therefore, after only one complete set of the Body Tempering Technique, they had grasped seven or eight parts out of ten.
Shen Qian sighed. "If I had obtained this art earlier, I might have had hope of reaching True Blood by now."
Though he had only cultivated it once, he could clearly feel that this Body Tempering Art was far more profound than the one he had cultivated before. The qi and blood it tempered were of exceptional quality. With high-quality qi and blood, everything in future cultivation would proceed smoothly.
"Isn't that so?" Qin Siniang said as well. "But it isn't too late now. Neither of us is very old. Switching to a different Body Tempering Art can still bring enormous benefits. We both have hope of reaching True Blood in the future!"
"Wuwuwu..." Sobbing sounded out. Qin Siniang and Shen Qian stared in astonishment at Lu Qianshan, who was wiping away tears nearby, and immediately felt a chill run down their spines.
Having obtained such a divine art, they too had countless thoughts swirling in their hearts, but not to this extent—especially since Lu Qianshan was even older than them.
"My lord..." Lu Qianshan ignored what they thought, his eyes red. "Sorry for making a fool of myself before you, my lord. Back then, in order to cultivate, I suffered hardships beyond measure. In the end, I found a master and learned a Body Tempering Art, nearly spending my household into ruin for it. That master of mine squeezed me without mercy. There were three people in my family, yet we could not even afford a full meal, while he demanded gifts from me at every holiday and festival. Today, my lord passed down such a divine art without asking for anything in return. For a moment, my heart surged like the tides, and I lost my composure before you."
He fiercely wiped his face and declared in a ringing voice, "I, Lu Qianshan, will engrave today's grace from my lord upon my heart. I am willing to die in my lord's service!"
"What happened to that master of yours?" Qin Siniang changed the subject. She could not let Lu Qianshan continue; goosebumps had already carpeted the ground beneath her.
A savage glint flashed through Lu Qianshan's eyes. "The day I entered the Lan Blood realm, I killed him!"
Qin Siniang could not help widening her eyes.
Lu Qianshan said, "My parents starved to death because I had to buy him gifts. Though he had shown me kindness, he was also my enemy! So after I killed him, I built him a very large grave mound and went to pay respects every year!"
For a moment, Qin Siniang did not know what to say. She only felt that this man was a true villain.
"Enough. The Body Tempering Technique has been passed on to you. Go cultivate it on your own afterward. Lu Qianshan, return to the stronghold and hold it down. There shouldn't be no one at the Lan Blood realm there."
They still had to guard against Black Wind Stronghold. By this point, Black Wind Stronghold should almost certainly have received the news.
"Yes!" Lu Qianshan wiped away the tears at the corners of his eyes, turned, and left without another word.
Qin Siniang and Shen Qian had only cultivated the Body Tempering Technique once and needed rest badly. After speaking a few words with Yang Yi, they each departed.
They now had places to stay in Stone Manor, so they did not need to travel back and forth to the stronghold.
Yang Yi also began restoring himself.
Teaching the Body Tempering Technique to Qin Siniang and Shen Qian had not been a spur-of-the-moment decision. In truth, he had already entertained the idea after taking over the stronghold.
According to what Qiao Yaoyao had said, they needed to remain stationed in Falling Moon Market for some time.
At the very least, they had to ensure the Qiao Household's purchases of all kinds of medicinal herbs this year. That was the highest priority!
Since that was the case, they would certainly continue working together. And in the future, now that they were familiar with one another, they would likely have opportunities to cooperate on missions.
When that time came, he could not rely on himself for everything.
Qin Siniang and Shen Qian were stronger, which also benefited him. Troubles that did not require his personal intervention could be handled by the two of them.
That way, he would have more time to do other things.
Lu Qianshan had merely been included along the way. He had brought Yang Yi such a great benefit last night, so since Yang Yi was passing on the Body Tempering Technique, it would not do to leave him out.
After all, tending one sheep was tending sheep, and driving a flock was driving sheep.
But at the end of the day, the Body Tempering Technique simply was not as important to Yang Yi as others imagined.
If this had been a mortal domain where spiritual qi would never be born, then the Body Tempering Technique truly could not be passed around casually.
But spiritual qi would eventually be born here.
Since Yang Yi could hand the Body Tempering Technique over to the Qiao Household in exchange for benefits, he could naturally pass it on to Qin Siniang, Shen Qian, and the others, cultivating them into his own right-hand aides.
