"She's strong!" Lin Renmei consoled her softly.

Before either of them could answer, Maria's voice suddenly rang out. "Big Yellow!!!"
"Maria!!!" Big Yellow jolted. The sight of her made him look as though he had seen a ghost, and he turned to slip away.
But he was nowhere near as fast as Maria. She closed the distance and grabbed his tail with one hand.

"Maria, if you don't let go, I'll bite you!"

"Take this sand!"
"Ptooey! Stupid Big Yellow, take this kick!"
The two of them tussled as if no one else were there, finally settling down after a good while.
"When did you get here?" Big Yellow asked.
"Almost a month ago," Maria answered.
Big Yellow hesitated, then asked, "Are they doing okay?"
"They're eating and drinking just fine. They even gave you another little sister. Her name's Xiaobaibai," Maria said.
"What about my godparents?" Big Yellow asked.
"They're doing fine too," Maria answered.
Big Yellow immediately turned and started walking back as if nothing had happened. "Then everything's fine. I'll be going!"
