The Suicide Squad's captain was named Lenur. His profession was Witch-Hunting Berserker.
It was a highly unusual profession. Strictly speaking, it could even be considered a kind of wizardry, though its origins were exceedingly dark.
In one world, much like Europe in Earth's fifteenth, sixteenth, and seventeenth centuries, a group of nobles launched a vast witch hunt. Anyone who killed a wizard could claim a handsome bounty.
And so, warriors who made a living hunting wizards emerged among the common people.
After killing large numbers of wizards, those warriors often fell ill. Some were even possessed by the vengeful ghosts of wizards. They ended up either dead or mad.
Later, however, one warrior found a solution in books left behind by the wizards. Gradually, a unique profession took shape: its practitioners killed wizards, absorbed their power to strengthen themselves, then went out to kill more. That was how Witch-Hunting Berserkers came to be.
Lenur was among the finest Witch-Hunting Berserkers. He had exceptionally high magic resistance and ferocious strength, enough to tear a wizard's frail body apart with ease.
If the Scholar Foundation had not intervened, he would certainly still be hunting innocent wizards across the All Heavens and Myriad Realms. Once his killing frenzy took hold, he would not even spare children with a talent for wizardry. He was scum through and through.
The problem was that he considered himself perfectly normal. Apart from his instinctive hatred of wizards, he was courteous to everyone else. He would even help ordinary people.
