This was merely the chieftain's second form.
It opened its golden eyes, and the entire world lay beneath its gaze. Yet it paid no heed to trivial matters, focusing all its attention on Martin.
"Dodge!"
Hadi controlled Martin's body and tried to retreat, but Martin gritted his teeth and charged forward instead.
Suddenly, a golden beam descended from the sky. The beam came from the chieftain's tail, which was extremely long and ended in a strange lotus-like organ.
The beam shot out from its tail, first firing into the sky before abruptly changing direction and plunging down.
It could be said that before it fell, only the chieftain knew where it would land. No one else had any way of guessing—and once the beam came down, could a person possibly outrun light?
Martin's charge was entirely instinctive. He had not given up yet!
Any sensible person should have known that the best course was to flee the chieftain's attack range. The chieftain could not possibly maintain this state forever, so waiting for it to revert before attacking would have been the correct choice.
But Martin had a feeling that if he did not continue fighting, then once he fled the chieftain's attack range, the consequences would likely be something he could not bear.
"Martin, what are you doing?" Hadi asked anxiously.
Martin clenched his teeth and answered in his heart, "If we run, will we really have another chance to kill it next time?"

Hadi immediately fell silent. The chieftain was extremely powerful, and while powerful, it was also exceptionally cunning. Once an opportunity to kill such an enemy was missed, it would likely be very difficult to find another like it.
But getting close to the chieftain was far too dangerous!
