Background

Yang Feng is an orphan raised in Old Jack’s home in Holy Soul Village. After transmigrating from Blue Star, he retains knowledge of the original storyline and resolves to surpass Tang San by exploiting its future events 1.

During the village’s Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony, he uses the Fate Diary System to reveal Tang San’s concealed Clear Sky Hammer. The exposure causes Tang San to join Spirit Hall, changing the original timeline and fully awakening Yang Feng’s system 1.

Yang Feng takes the academy placement left behind by Tang San and enrolls at Nuoding Academy as a work-study student. There, he conceals the true origin of the Imitation Martial Soul Mirror by allowing Yu Xiaogang to mistake it for an unprecedented mutation 2 3.

After graduating alongside Xiao Wu, Yang Feng enters Shrek Academy, where he begins assembling a replacement for the original Shrek Seven Devils. He recruits Ma Hongjun, cooperates with Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong, and becomes the group’s tactical leader 7 18.

Personality

Yang Feng is ambitious, calculating, and highly conscious of the advantage his foreknowledge provides. He treats information as a weapon, repeatedly using diary entries to alter alliances, expose enemies, and pressure stronger figures into retreat 1 8 27.

He habitually conceals his strongest assets. At Shrek, he presents copied Martial Souls as though they were his own mutated Martial Soul, keeping the Mirror’s copying mechanism hidden even from allies and mentors 7 9.

Despite his manipulative methods, Yang Feng is protective of people he considers his own. He promises to repay Old Jack, distributes Soul Power-enhancing potions to strengthen his team, protects Xiao Wu from the future he believes Tang San would bring her, and risks himself to cure Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan 2 23 28 32 34.

Abilities & Skills

Fate Diary System

The Fate Diary System rewards Yang Feng for changing major plot developments and distributes diary entries to selected people, allowing him to influence events without confronting opponents directly.

  • Only one diary entry may be written for each major plot point. 1
  • Rewards can include Martial Souls, Soul Rings, Soul Power increases, cultivation methods, and rare items. 1
  • Yang Feng uses entries to expose Tang San’s Twin Martial Souls, warn Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing, and undermine Tang San psychologically. 1 2 5 8
  • He successfully impersonates the Asura God through a diary message, frightening Qian Daoliu into withdrawing Spirit Hall’s attention from himself and Shrek Academy. 27 28
  • He can use the system to send messages under another person’s name, as when he informs Dugu Yan of Dugu Bo’s treatment. 33

Imitation Martial Soul Mirror

Yang Feng’s original Martial Soul manifests as a radiant mirror above his palm. It can record and imitate other people’s Martial Souls, transforming his own combat style according to the form selected. 2 13

  • Initially possessed one storage slot; copying a new Martial Soul overwrote the prior stored form. 2 4
  • Its first known copied form was Xiao Wu’s Soft Bone Rabbit. 5
  • It later copied Ma Hongjun’s Evil Fire Phoenix and Zhao Wuji’s Mighty Vajra Bear. 8 22
  • After reaching level 35, Yang Feng can switch between stored forms in approximately one second. 10
  • At level 46, he gains a third copy slot and a level-30 enhancement effect; switching that enhancement too often temporarily places it into dormancy. 22
  • The strength of a copied Martial Soul remains limited by Yang Feng’s own cultivation rather than the original owner’s full power. 22
  • The Mirror’s unstable and shifting forms confound conventional Martial Soul theory, leading Yu Xiaogang and Flender to classify it as an abnormal mutation outside the usual Beast, Tool, and Plant categories. 13 16

Soft Bone Rabbit Form

Yang Feng’s first copied form emphasizes flexibility, restraint, and close-quarters control.

  • Uses the Waist Bow soul skill to evade and break through Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass. 20
  • Redirects Wang Sheng’s attack and returns it with doubled force. 5
  • Helps restrain Zhao Wuji’s arm during the Shrek team’s coordinated assessment. 14

Evil Fire Phoenix Form

Copied from Ma Hongjun, the Evil Fire Phoenix gives Yang Feng a powerful fire-based assault option. 8

  • Uses Phoenix Howling Sky Strike to destroy Tang San’s Eight Spider Lances encirclement. 20
  • Allows Yang Feng to rapidly change from agile close combat to explosive ranged offense. 10 20

Mighty Vajra Bear Form

Copied from Zhao Wuji after Yang Feng reaches level 46, this form significantly improves his durability. 22

  • Increases Yang Feng’s defensive ability. 22
  • Grants access to part of Zhao Wuji’s techniques, though not at Zhao Wuji’s level-76 strength. 22
  • Requires the level-30 enhancement to activate properly. 22

Soul Ring Effects

  • Mandala Snake Soul Ring — Unlocks Paralyzing Thorns and improves copied-Martial-Soul performance by 20% against opponents using the same Martial Soul. 4
  • Soul Devouring Flower Soul Ring — Becomes a translucent, glazed ring after absorption; it is strengthened by sunlight and appears able to gather ambient Soul Power around Yang Feng. 15 16

Medicine and Poison Knowledge

Yang Feng possesses advanced practical knowledge of poisons, Immortal Herbs, and detoxification methods.

  • Correctly diagnoses the symptoms of Dugu Bo’s inherited poison. 32
  • Uses the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass and Infernal Delicate Apricot in a treatment plan that allows Dugu Bo to seal poison into a Spirit Bone. 32
  • Develops medicine to treat Dugu Yan’s inherited toxin and mitigate the backlash of the Jade Phosphorous Serpent Emperor poison. 33
  • Survives Tang San’s poisoning and receives a system reward after saving both Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan. 30 34

Equipment / Items

  • Memory Erasure Card — Can retract a mistakenly transmitted diary and erase part of recipients’ related memories. 10
  • Soul Power-enhancing potions — Yang Feng receives twenty bottles from the system and distributes them among his Shrek teammates to improve the group’s overall strength. 23

Relationships

  • Xiao Wu — Close companion from Nuoding Academy who permits Yang Feng to copy her Soft Bone Rabbit Martial Soul; they become an official couple after his victory over Tang San. 5 21
  • Tang San — Fellow Holy Soul Village child and primary rival. Yang Feng exposes his secrets, defeats him in a duel, and later survives Tang San’s poisoning. 1 20 30 34
  • Old Jack — Elder who raised Yang Feng as an orphan and sends him to Nuoding Academy; Yang Feng promises to care for him after becoming successful. 1 2
  • Yu Xiaogang — Former mentor. Yang Feng eventually accepts him as a master, but Yu Xiaogang later disowns him over his use of Soul Power-enhancing potions. 5 9 23
  • Flender — Shrek Academy’s headmaster, who values Yang Feng’s potential, supports his leadership, and repeatedly attempts to recruit him as a disciple. 17 21 23
  • Zhao Wuji — Mentor and source of Yang Feng’s Mighty Vajra Bear copy. He escorts Yang Feng to Sunset Forest for his second Soul Ring and encourages his future growth. 14 15 22
  • Ma Hongjun — Roommate, admirer, and sworn brother-like follower. He willingly allows Yang Feng to copy the Evil Fire Phoenix. 7 8
  • Zhu Zhuqing — Teammate whose diary warning encourages her to break away from Dai Mubai; Yang Feng later considers her part of his developing faction. 5 18
  • Ning Rongrong — Teammate and support Soul Master. Yang Feng initially tolerates her arrogance because of her powerful family background. 6 18
  • Tang HaoTang San’s father. Yang Feng uses a diary message to convince Tang Hao that Tang San’s expulsion from Spirit Hall was beneficial, earning Tang Hao’s gratitude. 23 24
  • Dugu Bo — Becomes Yang Feng’s sworn elder brother after Yang Feng treats his poison and promises to cure Dugu Yan. 32 33
  • Dugu Yan — Dugu Bo’s granddaughter. Yang Feng develops medicine for her inherited poison and considers recruiting her to his team. 33 34
  • Bibi Dong — Hostile Spirit Hall leader who regards Yang Feng as a threat and orders Yue Guan to eliminate him. 30
  • Qian Daoliu — Intimidated by Yang Feng’s fabricated connection to the Asura God and orders Spirit Hall to avoid provoking him. 27 28

Story Role / Major Arcs

  • Exposure of Tang San — Yang Feng’s first diary entry forces Tang San to reveal the Clear Sky Hammer, sending him to Spirit Hall instead of Nuoding Academy. 1
  • Nuoding Academy — He awakens the Imitation Martial Soul Mirror, acquires his first Soul Ring, copies Xiao Wu’s Martial Soul, and begins changing Zhu Zhuqing’s future through diary entries. 2 4 5
  • Formation of a Shrek faction — At Shrek Academy, Yang Feng recruits Ma Hongjun, aligns with Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong, and takes responsibility for evaluating and organizing the team. 7 18
  • Duel with Tang San — Yang Feng deliberately encourages Tang San’s overconfidence before defeating him with the combined versatility of the Soft Bone Rabbit and Evil Fire Phoenix forms. 19 20
  • Spirit Hall deterrence — He manipulates Qian Daoliu into believing he is protected by the Asura God, forcing Spirit Hall to halt its direct investigation. 27 28
  • Poison crisis in Sunset Forest — After Tang San poisons him, Yang Feng leaves Shrek alone, gains Dugu Bo’s protection through his medical knowledge, cures Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan, and returns before Tang San can take his captaincy. 30 32 33 34

Trivia

  • Yang Feng’s first copied Martial Soul was Xiao Wu’s Soft Bone Rabbit, while his first high-defense copied form was Zhao Wuji’s Mighty Vajra Bear. 5 22
  • He regards his evolving copy system as an artificial equivalent to possessing multiple Martial Souls, though he initially considers it inferior to naturally born Twin Martial Souls. 10
  • Qian Renxue witnesses Yang Feng cycling through rabbit, phoenix, and bear forms, leading Spirit Hall to believe he may possess three Martial Souls. 26 28
