He was a gaunt old ape, every strand of golden fur on his body crystal-clear. He looked otherworldly, his bearing solemn and august.
If anyone wanted to know what an enlightened being looked like, this old ape was the answer. Standing before them, he bore not a trace of mortal dust, as though he had stepped beyond the world.
Yet he struck with ruthless efficiency. A halo of Buddhist light appeared behind his head, and like a true Saint Buddha descended to earth, he subdued Ye Fan's Sacred Body with a gentle press of his hand.
Ye Fan was not angry. Instead, he kept asking, "Victorious Buddha, have you ever been to the Primordial Ancient Star? Have you ever met Emperor Li Shimin of Tang..."
Victorious Fighting Buddha shook his head. He knew nothing about Ye Fan's questions. He had never left the Big Dipper Imperial Star, much less been pinned beneath a mountain for five hundred years.
"But I did meet Sakyamuni Buddha. We discussed the Dao, and I learned a move called Five Elements Mountain from him."
"Later, I pinned Maha Ancient Buddha beneath Mount Sumeru for two thousand years."
Ye Fan froze. Instead of the monkey being pinned beneath a mountain, he had used Five-Finger Mountain to pin down a Buddha? What sort of nonsense was this? Heaven and earth had turned upside down!
"Uncle!!!"
Not far away, the Saint Prince spotted the golden old ape. Overcome with excitement, he ran toward him, shouting. His voice choked as he said, "You've come down from Mount Sumeru! The Buddhist Sect didn't convert you..."
At those words, the three thousand Buddhist disciples accompanying him felt distinctly put out. What kind of thing was that to say? Had he ever seen someone converted into the head of the Buddhist Sect?
