At this moment, Charlos looked at Akali and asked, "By the way, do you know Haki?"
Akali bowed and replied, "Yes."
"Good." Charlos nodded. "Starting tomorrow, you'll teach me Haki. I want to learn too."
"Yes, Saint Charlos."
Charlos then turned serious and instructed, "Akali, train those two well. Don't disappoint me."
"Understood."
Akali responded and led the sisters Amira and Amina out.
With only the two of them left in the hall, Shalria immediately reached out and hugged Charlos tightly, pressing her little face against him as she worriedly asked, "Brother, what if those two get stronger and run away someday? You even took off their slave collars."
Charlos gently raised a hand and ruffled her hair, his tone calm and composed.
"Then Brother just has to become stronger himself."
Shalria blinked her big eyes and looked up at Charlos. "Brother wants to become stronger too? Hehe, then Shalria will become stronger with Brother!"
Charlos gently rubbed her head again. "Such a good girl."
Shalria immediately leaned her little face closer and said softly, "Brother, kiss me."
Charlos lowered his head and lightly kissed her cheek. "Good girl."
Just as the atmosphere turned warm and tender, the doors to the palace were rudely shoved open.
Charlos, dragging a huge snot string behind him, squeezed his chubby body inside. He stared at Charlos with a greedy look. "Brother Charlos! I just saw two winged women being taken out of here. They were so pretty! Can you give them to me? I can trade you something for them!"
The moment he finished speaking.
Shalria's gaze turned cold. Without another word, she flew into action and kicked Charlos clean out of the hall.
"You dead fat pig! Don't you dare set foot in Brother Charlos's palace again!"
Charlos's heart-wrenching cries instantly rang out from outside the hall. "Ow, that hurts! It hurts, it hurts!"
Inside the Rosy Family's main hall.
Saint Roswald stood before the family head, his face filled with resentment and jealousy as he spoke in a strange, mocking tone.
"Father, what could that brat Charlos possibly amount to? Do you know? Shalria actually secretly took two rare Devil Fruits from the family and gave them to him to play with! What use is someone so wasteful and useless?"
He puffed out his chest and continued, looking utterly confident as he sought credit.
"You should value me instead! One day, I will inherit your position and become the next head of the Rosy Family. I will lead the entire Rosy Family to its peak of prosperity!"
The Rosy Family head, seated high above, cast him a cold glance. His eyes were icy, and his voice brimmed with disappointment and authority.
"Roswald, what use are you and that pig-headed son of yours?"
He continued berating him in a deep voice, every word oppressive.
"To put it bluntly, over countless generations and innumerable years, not a single member of our Rosy Family has ever entered God's Knights. Charlos alone is the only person in the entire family qualified and capable of joining God's Knights."
The family head's gaze suddenly sharpened as he issued a stern warning.
"If you dare cause trouble for him behind my back, stir up discord before me, or pull any tricks, I'll strip you of every right to inherit. Go ahead and try me."
Roswald's expression turned livid. He snorted coldly, his heart full of indignation.
"God's Knights? Charlos thinks he deserves that? My son can join too!"
With that, he flicked his sleeve and turned away, storming off with resentment and bitterness filling his heart.
The moment he left the hall, he ran into Charlos, who had rolled out miserably from Charlos's palace.
Seeing this useless, idiotic sight, Roswald's fury shot straight to his head. He stepped forward and viciously kicked Charlos.
"Hey! Stupid pig! Get up now!"
Charlos rubbed his aching body and staggered to his feet, looking utterly confused. "Father, what is it?"
Roswald glared at him, gritted his teeth, and shouted, "From today onward, you are forbidden from spending every day playing around and fooling with slaves! Get serious and train! I want you to give it everything you have and surpass Charlos! I want you to enter God's Knights!"
Charlos blankly shook his head, looking wronged and utterly unmotivated. "Huh? Compete with Brother Charlos? Then... I think I'll just admit defeat."
Roswald flung away the hand gripping Charlos and growled through clenched teeth, "Damn it! Stupid pig! Stupid pig! They're all stupid pigs!"
After saying that, he stormed off again, muttering to himself, "Honestly, every last one of them is going to drive me to death."
Palace courtyard.
Akali stood straight in the courtyard, facing the sisters Amira and Amina with a cold, serious expression.
"You two, repeat after me. The authority of the Celestial Dragons is supreme, and we must remain loyal forever."
Just as the sisters were about to repeat after her, a voice abruptly interrupted them.
"Wait, Akali."
Charlos slowly walked out of the hall.
Akali immediately stopped and bowed. "Yes, Saint Charlos."
Charlos looked at her and asked flatly, "What are you making them recite that for?"
Akali answered truthfully, "Since formal training has begun and they are following you, my lord, they naturally need to recite an oath of loyalty every day and uphold their faithful hearts."
Charlos immediately understood.
Sure enough, this was the most common brainwashing tactic used by CP—using daily oaths to completely bind their subordinates' thoughts and loyalty.
He slightly raised a hand, his tone certain. "No need. It's unnecessary. I trust them."
Akali respectfully replied, "Yes."
The moment she finished speaking, Shalria came running over, her brand-new training outfit making her look lively and adorable.
She tilted up her little face, her eyes full of anticipation. "Brother! Look at my training outfit! Let's go train together!"
Akali slightly raised her head, looked at Charlos, and asked, "Saint Charlos, will you also be participating in the special training?"
Charlos casually picked his nose and nodded frankly. "Yes, that's right."
"Me too, me too!" Shalria eagerly said, raising her little hand high.
Akali hesitated for a moment before softly saying, "If my arrangements cause you any difficulty, please tell me directly."
Charlos waved a hand. "It's not difficult. Just arrange it."
"Yes, Lord Charlos. Whatever you say goes. It won't be difficult at all." Akali bowed in acceptance.
Charlos let out a breath of relief. "All right, then let's officially begin."
Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was already late at night.
Charlos lay sprawled on the courtyard ground, his entire body sore and weak as he muttered, "I'm so tired."
Shalria swayed over to him and immediately flopped into his arms, softly whining, "Brother, I'm tired too."
Charlos raised a hand and gently patted her little head, saying with concern, "If it's too exhausting, then don't do special training tomorrow."
Shalria immediately lifted her little face stubbornly, her eyes serious. "No. I want to train with Brother."
At this moment, Akali slowly stepped forward and respectfully said, "Saint Charlos, if you feel the training intensity is too high, I can appropriately reduce the workload tomorrow."
Charlos hurriedly waved his hands. "No, no. Don't reduce it."
He then asked, "How are those two doing?"
As soon as he spoke, Akali fell silent.
Charlos immediately sensed that something was off. He propped himself up and turned to look.
Amira and Amina were sitting quietly to one side, regulating their breathing. Their breaths were steady and their expressions relaxed. They did not look tired in the slightest; they were merely resting leisurely.
Charlos was instantly dumbfounded.
Was the gap really this huge?
When Amira and Amina saw Charlos looking over, they hurriedly stood up straight.
"Charlos," the sisters softly corrected themselves, their tones obedient and natural. "We used to do heavy, exhausting work every day in the village, so we're already used to it. This little bit of training isn't tiring at all."
After hearing that, Charlos inwardly collapsed and complained, Oh my god, this body is way too weak. Then again, when would a Celestial Dragon ever do any work?
