Background

Amira and her younger twin sister, Amina, came from an unnamed village targeted by pirates demanding 100 million Beli in protection money. When their family could not pay, the pirates took and killed their mother. Their father ultimately sold both sisters in an attempt to raise the demanded money, leading to their enslavement. 4

Charlos selected Amira and Amina from a cage as personal attendants. Although he had their slave collars removed and provided them with clean maid uniforms, both girls initially remained severely frightened and conditioned to obey. Amira bore a fresh Celestial Dragon Hoof Mark on her back; a doctor could treat the wound but could not remove the permanent brand. Charlos promised to erase it if a method were ever found. 2 3

To make the sisters capable of serving in his planned personal guard, Charlos gave Amira a Devil Fruit. Her power manifested as an angel-like form, after which Akali was assigned to train her and Amina in the Navy Six Powers and Haki. 4 5
