I Am a Superpowered Individual

As a transmigrator, one could not be without a golden finger.

Li Wei regarded those words as gospel and agreed with them from the bottom of his heart, because as a transmigrator, he had a golden finger!

He had discovered it when he was very young: whenever his emotions became agitated, unusual phenomena always occurred around him!

For example, it was as if he released an invisible force that sent objects flying everywhere!

Or he could make things disappear, only for them to inexplicably reappear somewhere he could not possibly reach, almost as if they had teleported.

Although this golden finger came with no instructions or explanation, Li Wei believed that he was probably a superpowered individual, capable of affecting the things around him—and even himself—with his mind.

So Li Wei began consciously training his superpowers, trying to move objects with his thoughts or staring at a spoon in an attempt to bend it.

In the end, through relentless training, Li Wei had now mastered one of his superpowers: Telekinesis!

As though an invisible, powerful hand extended from within his body, Li Wei could use Telekinesis to easily manipulate people or objects weighing up to one hundred kilograms.

That little thug who had just been beaten half to death was the result of Li Wei using Telekinesis.

Of course, the ghost of Goldfinch District was merely a rumor that had spread from person to person. Even though Li Wei was a superpowered individual, he had always believed in science. It had nothing to do with ghosts.

Telekinesis training will continue. Next, I should start developing other abilities!

As Li Wei made a training plan for his superpowers in his heart, he pushed the food cart onward. When he looked up, the massive iron gates of Wu's Orphanage were already visible in the distance.

The iron gates opened with a creak. Li Wei pushed the food cart inside and parked it in its usual corner of the orphanage before sneaking back to his room.

The only advantage of the orphanage being poor was probably that there were fewer orphans, so the living conditions were not quite so crowded.

An orphan like Li Wei, who handed over money every day and was therefore highly valuable, had even managed to get himself a single room with a private bathroom instead of having to squeeze in with the other children.

Having private space gave Li Wei an opportunity to hide money.

Even though he knew that the nuns and caretakers at the orphanage came into his room every day under the pretense of cleaning, thoroughly searching it from top to bottom.

But a superpowered individual had plenty of ways to hide money!

Li Wei activated Telekinesis and silently lifted the floor tiles in his room. Then he lifted a large clump of earth from the soil beneath them. Under that clump sat the little box containing his hidden money.

No matter how cunning as ghosts the nuns and caretakers of the orphanage were, they probably would never imagine that they would have to dig up such a huge clump of earth to find the money Li Wei had hidden away.

Li Wei also had to thank Wu's Orphanage for being so backward and dilapidated. Otherwise, in urbanized London, it really would not have been easy to find this sort of single-story building!

When he opened the money box, large-denomination pound notes filled nearly half of it. Most were fifties and twenties, with only a few fives and tens.

Li Wei put today's earnings into the box, then restored the clump of earth and the floor tiles to their original positions. After only a moment's thought, without even needing to count, he knew that he already had around fifteen hundred pounds.

This money should be enough for rent, but it won't be easy for a child like me to rent a place!

And there's the food cart. Those bone-sucking vampires at the orphanage will never let me take it with me!

They might not even allow me to leave the orphanage!

Li Wei calculated in his heart, a trace of coldness appearing on his face.

"Bang! Bang!"

Suddenly, a crisp knocking sound came from outside his window!
