High above, Iron Man saw the fissure in the ground vanish. It struck him as strange.
But he had no time to think about it. He flew toward the other monsters.
Several of them had already run off and were smashing into houses. They plucked out the people inside like food from cans and began to eat.
Ordinary people stood no chance against monsters that huge. Handguns and machine guns could not even pierce their hides.
As Iron Man closed in, he opened the launchers on his shoulders and fired more than a dozen Mini Rockets.
"Hey, monster! Come get a taste of me!"
Boom! Boom! Boom! Explosions erupted as his words rang out.
The blast waves tore the house apart, while flying chunks of stone smashed the cars on the road.
But to a monster from Hell, those explosions were little more than a scratch. They barely hurt it.
When the flames cleared, the monster gave Iron Man a brief glance. Seeing no way to bring him down, it ran to another house to look for food.
It soon heard a heartbeat inside. Its arm punched straight through the wall and seized the food within.
"Ah!"
The person it grabbed screamed in terror.
But the monster mercilessly stuffed them into its mouth.
To the monster, the creatures of this world were the tastiest food it had ever eaten.
They tasted good and were weak. All they did was scream. They never fought back.
If it could, it would stay in this world forever.
Iron Man's face darkened at the sight.
He had never imagined that even his strongest attack would fail to hurt a single monster.
He could not help worrying about humanity's future.
