After Buddha intervened, the battle between the Great Sage Equal to Heaven and the Buddhas of the Western Lands reached a stalemate.
For the moment, neither side could overcome the other.
It was not that Thanos did not want to send more energy to the corrupted Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
The changes to the story were too limited. The Space Rift was not large enough to transmit any more energy.
If the Great Sage Equal to Heaven killed Buddha, the Journey to the West World would fall into turmoil. Thanos might even be able to descend in person.
Unfortunately, the Space Rift was limited. Sending his subordinates through was already pushing it to its limit. Anything more might destroy the Journey to the West World.
That was not the outcome Thanos wanted.
He wanted to absorb the Journey to the West World and increase his energy and mass, not destroy it.

The Jade Emperor led the gods of the Investiture of the Gods and a million Heavenly Soldiers and Heavenly Generals into battle against Wanda and the others.
Every moment, hundreds or thousands of Heavenly Soldiers and Heavenly Generals died and fell to the ground.
As the Heavenly Court's forces dwindled, the pressure on them grew.
Even some of the gods named in the Investiture of the Gods had died from sheer exhaustion.
There were simply too many enemies. Once their Immortal Power ran out, the relentless fighting gave them no chance to rest or replenish it. They could only fight until they died.
