Background / History

Linlin was a member of the Rocks Pirates during the Rocks era. When Rektol and Perospero were born aboard a pirate ship, she treated both infants carelessly, kicking their cradle while eating a Sea King leg. Her attitude changed when Rektol’s three hearts awakened: she called him a “true monster” and her greatest masterpiece, valuing his abnormal vitality as proof of power rather than as a child in need of care 1.

As Rektol grew, Linlin initially attempted to direct her children’s futures herself, including acquiring the Mochi-Mochi Fruit for the newborn Katakuri. Rektol destroyed the fruit and challenged her plan, insisting Katakuri should receive the Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon instead. Though furious, Linlin accepted the challenge after witnessing Rektol’s overwhelming presence 3.

Linlin supported Rektol’s early militarization of the Charlotte Family, publicly enforcing his orders after he proposed turning Smoothie into a mechanically enhanced weapon. Her belief that “strength is common sense” allowed Rektol to silence opposition through violence 7. Linlin believes that strength determines worth. She treats monstrous power as the only meaningful standard, whether judging pirates, her own children, or herself. Her appetite is central to her behavior. She is obsessed with sweets and imagines Totto Land as a candy kingdom, but the destruction of desserts can trigger Hunger Pangs severe enough for her to mistake people for food 10 38. She is also impulsive and volatile, reacting violently to frustration, hunger, and challenges to her authority.

Despite her harsh treatment of her children, Linlin is possessive of those she considers valuable.
