Background / History

Liu Shuangshuang is the granddaughter of Liu Wuming of the Soto City Liu Family. Her grandfather had previously prevented her from joining Shrek Academy, but sought Si Tingxuan's tutelage after witnessing the talent of Odd Weapons Academy's disciples. Liu eagerly accepted, having regarded Si Tingxuan as “the idol of all young people” in the kingdom 58 59.

Before joining the academy, Liu Wuming had kept her from casually forming a team because he believed few Soul Masters could match her talent. Liu was therefore excited to meet Hua Qingluo, Long Wu, and Yun Piaopiao as potential lifelong companions and immediately acknowledged them as her senior sisters 59.

She became the fourth disciple in Si Tingxuan's lineage, behind Hua Qingluo, Long Wu, and Yun Piaopiao. When Shi Xiaotian joined later, Liu enthusiastically asserted her seniority and demanded to be addressed as “Senior Sister” 64.

Appearance

Liu is a young girl who initially appears younger than Hua Qingluo. Her Martial Soul manifests as a transparent, colored-glaze nine-story pagoda 58 60.

She had watched countless Great Spirit Arena matches before participating herself and was excited for her first fight 60.

She values companionship and takes team seniority seriously, quickly accepting her fellow disciples as future teammates. Although confident around Shi Xiaotian, she is intimidated by Si Tingxuan when he becomes strict, shrinking behind her grandfather after his post-match critique 64 67.

Liu also acts on concern for her friends. She rushed to help Wang Jiemiao after hearing she was being bullied, even though Granny Wang's presence meant Wang Jiemiao was safe 68.

Soto City Great Spirit Arena

Liu joined Hua Qingluo, Long Wu, Yun Piaopiao, and Shi Xiaotian for the team's first Spirit Arena battle. During the fight against the Gray Bear Battle Team, she trapped the Cat Girl with Pagoda Furnace, helping the Odd Soldiers Battle Team secure victory 65 66.

After the match, Si Tingxuan's critique of the team left Liu visibly fearful, though she continued following his guidance 67.

Journey to Slaughter City

Liu traveled north with Si Tingxuan and the other senior disciples, initially guessing that their destination might be the Land of Extreme North 337. At the tavern leading to Slaughter City, she struggled with the taste of the offered wine and nearly asked Si Tingxuan what it was, only for Hua Qingluo and Long Wu to cover her mouth before she could 339.

After witnessing Shi Xiaotian kill thirteen Soul Masters, Liu was among the disciples who became physically sick from the experience, having previously fought only in regulated Soul Duels where killing was forbidden 341.
