Ren built the Uchiha Shrine into a powerful force that challenged the villages and the Daimyo Court, while recruiting allies and expanding its influence. Madara returned to confront the clan, and the volume ended as Ren prepared to fight him in a Susanoo-enhanced body.

Arc 9Ren’s New Order

Ren defeated Hashirama and revealed his plan to enforce peace above the Five Great Countries, while explaining the origins of the shinobi clans and recruiting Tobirama. After the battle, the Uchiha Shrine crushed the Dark Exchange House’s operations in the Land of Fire, and Tsunade confronted the Daimyo Court by redirecting Konoha’s work and investments.

  • Ren defeated Hashirama with Layered Evening Elephant, then declared that he would impose a unified order above the countries and villages to prevent wars.
  • Ren explained the histories of Kaguya, Hagoromo, Indra, and Asura, and revealed that Madara was Indra’s reincarnation while Hashirama was Asura’s.

Arc 10The Uchiha’s Rising Power

Ren’s strength and the Uchiha’s growing influence reshaped relations with the Daimyo Court and the other villages, while Ren brought Orochimaru into the clan’s research. The arc left Ren heading to meet Kurama Yakumo, with Kakashi and Kurenai, as Hiruzen warned Asuma not to provoke him.

  • Tsunade broke Konoha’s dependence on the Daimyo Court’s mission distribution by announcing the Uchiha’s funding agreement, then revealed that Ren had defeated Hashirama and warned the court of his power.
  • Tobirama told Tsunade that he planned to join Ren’s Temple, and Ren outlined a future in which Konoha would be a sacred land while villages kept local authority and partnered with the Uchiha.

Arc 11The Shrine’s Growing Power

Ren strengthened the Uchiha Shrine through new clan policies, training, and appointments while Obito and Black Zetsu revived Madara and revealed the scale of Ren’s power to him. Madara set out to investigate the Inner Court as Yaonai and Luna showed Sakura and Ino its formidable gates.

  • Ren examined Yakumo, diagnosed the strain her dormant spiritual power placed on her fragile body, and offered to train her with the Uchiha’s Tiger Leopard Thunderclap Body Tempering Art after she agreed to become his disciple.
  • Ren proposed an Inner and Outer Court structure, open recruitment for ordinary roles, marriage and childbirth incentives, and centralized childcare, and Fugaku and the elders approved the policies.
  • Black Zetsu and White Zetsu reported the Shrine’s rapid growth to Obito, who abandoned the Akatsuki’s original plan and chose to build an undead army using Impure World Reincarnation.

Arc 12Madara’s Return

Madara returned to the Uchiha District and challenged the clan, overwhelming its defenders until Ren intervened. Ren unveiled a technique that merged Complete Body Susanoo into his own body, leaving the story poised for his close-quarters fight with Madara.

  • Madara arrived at the Uchiha District, opened all seven gates, and received the clan’s highest welcoming ceremony.
  • Uchiha Jian confronted Madara and used Shifting Phantom to strike him, but Madara summoned Complete Body Susanoo and overwhelmed the defenders.
  • Nanami and twelve Squad Captains activated Heavenly Tribulation, whose Thunder Dragon damaged Madara’s Susanoo before he split the first stage of the attack and threatened the captains.
  • Ren appeared to protect the captains and halted Madara’s Susanoo blade with Hundredfold Strike and Spacequake, then broke it with Armament Void-Shake.
  • Madara attacked the Inner Court while Ren was intangible, forcing Ren to abandon that defense after Fugaku, Shisui, and Itachi were defeated trying to stop him.
