A Desperate World

Xiao Han looked at them, his eyes holding no pity, only resolve.

"Since I can't save you, I'll send you to rest."

The next second—

Boom!!!

Xiao Han instantly broke the sound barrier, his fist punching through Daredevil's chest!

Rotting organs burst apart under the impact. The former guardian of Hell's Kitchen did not even have time to react before his head was instantly vaporized by Heat Vision.

Luke Cage roared as he charged in, but his formidable body was as fragile as paper before Xiao Han.

Xiao Han seized him by the throat with one hand and smashed him violently into the ground.

Bang!!!

The force was so immense that the entire street collapsed, and the shockwave shattered every building within a hundred meters!

Luke Cage's spine snapped, yet his zombified body continued to twitch.

Xiao Han stomped down, crushing his head like a watermelon.

Spider-Woman dove from above, decaying webs shooting down like a rainstorm.

Xiao Han did not even raise an eyelid. His Biofield trembled, instantly vaporizing all the slime.

He raised a hand and unleashed Freeze Breath. The freezing storm instantly turned her into an ice sculpture, and then he lightly snapped his fingers.

"Snap!"

The ice sculpture shattered, turning into countless ice crystals that filled the sky.

Blade was faster than the others. His bone blade sliced through the air, aiming straight for the back of Xiao Han's neck.

Without even turning his head, Xiao Han caught his wrist with a backhand and gave it a slight twist.

Crack!

His entire arm was torn off by brute force! Blade had not even managed to scream.

Xiao Han had already pressed one hand against his face and slammed him into the ground, dragging him hundreds of meters until his skull had been ground down to bare bone.

Ghost Rider's chains lashed toward him, hellfire attempting to scorch Xiao Han's soul.

Xiao Han sneered. Golden light flared in his eyes as Heat Vision pierced straight through Ghost Rider's skull. Then Xiao Han crushed his skull with one hand, and the hellfire instantly went out.

Moon Knight launched a surprise attack from the shadows, his crescent blade slashing toward Xiao Han's throat. Xiao Han neither dodged nor blocked, allowing the blade to strike his Biofield.

Clang!

The crescent blade shattered. Xiao Han answered with a backhand punch, instantly caving in Moon Knight's chest. His ribs pierced through his back, and he flew hundreds of meters like a rag doll before crashing into a building.

Deadpool charged in with maniacal laughter, his twin blades whirling wildly.

Xiao Han frowned and directly cut him in half at the waist with Heat Vision.

But Deadpool's upper body kept crawling, muttering, "Oh, this feels amazing..."

Speechless, Xiao Han crushed his head beneath his foot. His Healing Factor was regenerating madly under the virus's influence.

But Xiao Han gave him no more chances. Freeze Breath sealed him completely in ice, then a punch blasted him into icy fragments.

Punisher rushed out from behind cover, driving a serrated dagger toward Xiao Han's back.

Xiao Han could not even be bothered to turn around. His Biofield shook, instantly pulverizing the dagger and breaking every bone in Punisher's arm.

Xiao Han glanced back at him. A sweep of Heat Vision turned the former avenger into ash.

Black Bolt roared soundlessly, his quasi-sonic waves tearing through the air as the buildings along the entire street collapsed amid sonic booms.

Xiao Han remained suspended in place, his Biofield blocking every shockwave.

He instantly appeared before Black Bolt, plunged one hand into his chest, and crushed his heart.

Juggernaut charged in like an out-of-control train, the ground trembling beneath his footsteps.

Xiao Han shook his head. Without dodging, he threw out a punch of his own.

Boom!!!

The two colossal forces collided, and the shockwave instantly toppled every building for kilometers around!

The bones in Juggernaut's arm shattered inch by inch. Xiao Han's second punch blasted straight through his chest and crushed his still-beating heart.

The battle began...

Seconds later, it was over.

Xiao Han stood amid the corpses, his black battle armor spotless as Super Hearing picked up the situation above.

"Really, one after another..."

Before his words could fade, the sky suddenly split apart!

Boom!!!

A cosmic energy blast descended from above, but Xiao Han had anticipated it and instantly dodged.

He slowly raised his head, looking at the figure hovering high in the sky.

A red cape billowed in the wind, its golden trim fluttering. Fresh blood still stained the corner of his grotesque face.

"Hyperion."

This universe's counterfeit Superman had once been a hero, but now he had become something even more terrifying than a zombie.

"Hungry... so hungry..."

Hyperion's voice rasped like sandpaper, an inhuman growl rolling from his throat.

His eyes were bloodshot, his muscles swollen nearly to the point of deformity, while ominous black veins writhed beneath his skin.

Xiao Han wasted no words and accelerated straight into the sky!

Bang!!!

Their fists collided a thousand meters in the air, and the shockwave instantly shattered the nearby clouds!

Hyperion was blasted back hundreds of meters by the punch, yet forcibly stopped himself in midair and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with a vicious grin.

"Interesting... your flesh... is more delicious than theirs!"

Xiao Han frowned slightly. This guy was stronger than expected. It seemed that the mutation had enhanced him.

He decided to test him.

Hyperion suddenly spread his arms. A bizarre energy vortex appeared in his chest, absorbing every probing beam of Heat Vision Xiao Han fired!

"Hahaha! Energy? I can eat it!"

Expressionless, Xiao Han vanished in an instant and appeared behind Hyperion, lashing a kick toward his spine!

Boom!

Hyperion crashed into the ground like a cannonball, but broke out of the earth the next second, faster than before!

His fist, wrapped in cosmic energy, smashed fiercely toward Xiao Han's face.

Xiao Han neither dodged nor retreated, meeting it with a punch of his own!

Thud!!!

This time, they were evenly matched. Xiao Han had not used his full strength, but Hyperion was clearly stronger than before.

"The mutation enhanced his cells."

A trace of interest flashed in Xiao Han's eyes. "Looks like I can play a little longer."

Hyperion charged forward with wild laughter, and the two began a frenzied battle high in the air!

Several magic circles instantly closed in, trapping Hyperion within a cubic space. He slammed into the barriers madly, yet could only make the runes flicker faintly.

"You useless trash!"

Hyperion roared as the energy vortex in his chest surged. "Watch me devour this lousy cage!"

This was exactly what Xiao Han had been waiting for.

"Soul Scorch."

Golden light blazed in his eyes. His Heat Vision was no longer a physical attack, but fused with Kamar-Taj's soul magic, piercing directly through Hyperion's body and scorching his soul!

"AAAAAH!!!"

Hyperion let out an unprecedented scream, clutching his head as he fell to his knees in midair.

Black mist seeped from his seven orifices. It was his soul, twisted by the virus.

Xiao Han pressed his advantage, striking Hyperion's crown with his palm.

"Soul Separation Curse!"

Pop.

With a soft sound, a translucent soul was forcibly blasted out of his body!

Hyperion's soul looked around blankly. He saw his mutated body still howling inside the cage, saw the devastated city, and finally looked at Xiao Han.

"What... did I do?"

His soul trembled as memories rushed back like a flood—the civilians he had devoured alive, the comrades he had torn apart.

"No... no!!!"

He fell to his knees in the void, crimson ripples spreading across his soul.

Xiao Han watched him quietly. "The virus amplified your hunger, but you were the one who chose to devour your own kind."

Hyperion raised his head, his eyes filled with despair. "Kill me... please... don't let me return to that body..."

Xiao Han nodded and raised a hand, gathering energy at the level of a solar flare. "Rest in peace."

A blazing white sphere swallowed Hyperion's soul and body, reducing them to ash in purification.

A gentle breeze passed by, carrying away the last specks of dust into the setting sun.

"A desperate world."
