"Quick, Luke, catch it!"
A fat white rabbit was racing desperately through the grass.
Behind it, Jom and Helibel rode together on one horse. The little boy excitedly waved a small wooden sword, directing a hunting dog ahead of them.
Helibel clamped her legs around the horse's sides and raised her hunting rifle with both hands.
She took aim and fired.
Bang!
Amid the gunshot, the rabbit was hit and fell.
The hunting dog pounced on it, clamped its jaws around its neck, then turned and ran back.
"Luke, you're amazing!"
Jom cheered and jumped down from the white horse.
The hunting dog came over, released its prey, and sat on the grass with its tongue hanging out, looking as though it were waiting for praise.
Jom took a piece of dried venison from the little backpack he carried and tossed it to the dog.
Luke immediately wagged his tail furiously, barked happily twice, then lay down on the grass to savor the treat.
Helibel picked the rabbit up by its ears and placed it behind her horse, then looked smugly at Sifa behind her.
"Three to two. I win!"
There were only two rabbits on Sifa's horse. He glanced at them, then clapped and laughed. "I never expected Miss Belle to be such an excellent rider. Your marksmanship is quite good too."
Helibel casually replied, "My big brother taught me."
After saying that, her expression dimmed slightly. Even the bright sunshine seemed to lose some of its radiance.
At noon.
They went fishing upstream at Silver Snake Creek, where the creek flowed through a shallow ford and formed a river bend. 🌷🐙 ♪♟
