A sailing ship floated quietly on the sea, all the sails on its masts unfurled, allowing it to travel with the wind. Yet not a single person could be seen on deck.
"Strange."
Danitz leaned against the railing, watching the sailing ship draw closer. "Even if everyone aboard is still asleep, there should at least be a sailor on deck."
"Unless everyone aboard is dead," Water Bucket said without thinking, gnawing on a pork sausage.
Danitz glanced at Water Bucket, then turned to Sifa. "What do you think?"
Holding the golden scepter, Sifa nodded. "I think Water Bucket has a point."
"How else do you explain there being nobody on deck?"
On the Golden Dream's deck, the pirates gathered to watch the strange sailing ship drifting toward them. Just then, Edwina approached, and they all stepped aside to make way for her.
"Captain."
Danitz pushed past Water Bucket and Sifa to stand beside the Iceberg Admiral, pointing at the sailing ship out at sea. "Something's very wrong with that ship. I suspect everyone aboard is dead."
Water Bucket, who was chewing his pork sausage, angrily pointed at himself when he heard this. Unfortunately, his mouth was full, so he couldn't protest or tell the captain that it had been his guess.
Edwina studied the ship as it drew closer, then said, "We'll know once we go aboard and take a look."
A short while later, several small boats were lowered onto the sea and rowed toward the strange ship.
Sifa, Danitz, and Jodson took seven or eight pirates with them to the ship, then climbed the boarding ladder onto its deck.
The deck was clean, with nothing suspicious about it, so their gazes naturally settled on the dark entrance to the cabins.
