"Good evening, Your Excellency Shevich. Dinner is ready for you."
The mayor saw Shevich get out of the carriage and hurried forward with Linsk, speaking respectfully.
Shevich nodded. His stern face remained silent, while his Giant secretary, Levtor, said beside him, "His Excellency should wash up before dinner."
The mayor hurriedly said, "Of course, of course. Your Excellency Shevich's room is ready."
He waved toward the rear, and a slightly stout, weathered-looking butler came forward with several female servants.
"This is Butler Helton. He'll take Your Excellency to his room to wash up."
Butler Helton bowed to the Demigod and gestured with one hand. "Esteemed Your Excellency, please follow me."
After the "Iron-blooded Knight" and his secretary left with the butler, the mayor and Linsk went ahead to the spacious, elegant dining hall. Gold-inlaid ceramic tableware had already been laid out, while the long table was covered with caviar, roast chicken, stewed lamb, pan-fried steak, fried fish, cream soup, and other dishes.
The mayor personally rearranged the food and then asked the chef how the desserts and aperitifs were coming along.
A moment later, Shevich entered the dining hall in a change of casual clothes, accompanied by his Giant secretary. Butler Helton pulled out the high-backed chair at the head of the table, allowing Shevich to take his seat at his leisure.
"Sit down."
Shevich surveyed the room and spoke in a commanding tone.
Only then did his secretary Levtor, the mayor, and Linsk take their respective seats in the prescribed order.
Once the aperitif was served, Shevich lifted his glass and took a small sip. He gave the mayor an approving glance and said, "I heard that your town cooperated fully in preparing the supplies and was the first to complete the military department's assignment. You did very well."
