"Curse?"
At the mention of curses, Sifa thought of the "Demoness," of the files he had read and the Demonesses he had seen with his own eyes. He knew these Demonesses were skilled at curses and spreading disease.
Could there be a Demoness on Symeem Island? Was Bugard Newman sick because a Demoness had set her sights on him?
Sifa suddenly had the urge to pack up and leave the island.
Kardashian continued, "The mistress has invited every doctor they know, every doctor they do not know, every doctor they could possibly reach to treat Bugard, but none of them produced any results."
"Finally, she sought help from the island's witch doctor. That witch doctor believed Bugard had been cursed, and tomorrow, he intends to treat him."
So the curse was something the witch doctor said? Then there's nothing to worry about. Sifa relaxed. In his mind, witch doctors were little different from charlatans. Still, he would have to wait until tomorrow, when the Doctor came to the manor and examined him, before reaching a conclusion.
The next afternoon, the Doctor arrived. Sifa waited in advance at the old pier. The moment he saw the Doctor, he climbed into the prepared carriage with him.
When they arrived at Bugard's manor again, Sifa saw the same two Gatekeepers from yesterday.
"My lord, you've come again." The Gatekeeper noticed there was one more person today. "And this is?"
Sifa cleared his throat. "This is the doctor I specifically invited, Mr. Polly Mellon. Please inform the mistress that Mr. Polly will cure Mr. Bugard's terrible illness."
A moment later, Sifa met the mistress of the manor, Mrs. Nicola.
Bugard's wife was much younger than Sifa had imagined, seemingly only twenty-six or twenty-seven. However, the young lady had exhausted herself over her husband's affairs
