After Kaman and his men were driven away, Nicola looked at Sifa with both fear and respect. "Lord Blessed, what should I do next?"
The corners of Sifa's mouth lifted slightly, and he shook his head. "Madam, I'm no Blessed, and there is no Fire God. That was merely a performance. Have you ever been to a circus? What I did was essentially no different from a circus magician's act."
Not wanting any strange legends to spring up on Symeem Island, Sifa decided to conceal the existence of Beyonder abilities. As for Kaman, he certainly wouldn't tell anyone. On the contrary, he would help Sifa keep this secret to preserve his own reputation as a master.
Sifa raised his hand slightly, and the terrifying giant bear of fire dissolved into little flames that gathered in his palm.
With a flick of his hand, he produced a bouquet made of flames.
Looking at those beautiful fiery flowers and the handsome face illuminated by their glow, Nicola felt her cheeks grow warm and her heart race. She didn't know whether it was because the fire had warmed the room or for some other reason.
Sifa blew on the fiery bouquet, and the "flowers" swiftly withered. At last, the flames vanished. He clapped his hands and smiled. "Madam, may we see Mr. Bugard now?"
Nicola was still lost in some fantasy and failed to respond at first. Only when Sifa gave another dry cough did she come back to herself as though waking from a dream. "Please follow me," she said hurriedly.
Outside Bugard's bedroom, Sifa told the Doctor, "He'll go in with you."
He meant Levtor.
Bugard was suspected of having an infectious disease. With the Doctor present, and being a Sequence 6 Beyonder himself, Sifa didn't think he would catch it.
