"The Moon" Emlyn froze at "the Hermit's" answer, then whipped his head toward him. "Mr. Hermit..."

Before he could finish, Odys raised a hand. "What I know is limited. I can't trade you information about the Blood Ancestor."

"I'll take whatever you know!" Emlyn said quickly.

Odys thought for a moment. "All right, but it'll cost 4,000 pounds. Some of that information is extremely valuable."

Emlyn opened his mouth, then said, "I'll raise the money as soon as I can."

"There's no need to rush," Odys said. "Knowing certain things before you reach a high enough Sequence isn't necessarily good for you."

The Moon nodded, but anyone could see he was distracted. He hadn't taken the Hermit's words to heart at all.

Behind the Gray Fog, "the Fool" Klein felt a little helpless. He had meant to steer the conversation back to the Ancient Gods' Subordinates, but instead he had helped the Hermit make a sale.

So he had "the World" ask the Hermit, "How much would information about the Ancient Gods' Subordinates cost?"
