Odys and Bernadette realized they would have to reach the heart of the island to learn how to leave.
One thing was certain: it was extremely dangerous. Odys suspected a High Demon might be inside, but he did not know whether it had been sealed there or corrupted by the Mother Tree of Desire and left in such poor condition that it could not leave.
Perhaps it could not even leave the island's center.
Odys analyzed the situation. "As far as I know, the Demon Monarch, an Ancient God who has existed since the Second Epoch, possesses the Abyss Pathway's Uniqueness and two Sequence 1 Beyonder Characteristics of that Pathway.
"And the Angels of the three Devil families all seem to be Sequence 2.
"In other words, one Sequence 1 Beyonder Characteristic of that Pathway may not be in the hands of the Demon Monarch or his subordinates.
"Of course, everything on this island could also be part of a plan laid by the Demon Monarch. The Mother Tree of Desire might have discovered it and interfered, leaving it in its present state.
"Either way, we'll very likely encounter a Sequence 2 Devil, and there's a chance we'll encounter one at Sequence 1."
The two of them were confident they could handle a Sequence 1 even if Bernadette did not use Pale Death.
As for the corruption from an Above the Sequence being on the island, it was unlikely to affect two Angels like Odys and Bernadette. Odys could also use Knowledge Moor to block it to some extent.
"The only problem now," Bernadette said, "is finding a way to keep that High Demon from exploiting our desires.
"Pale Death can deal with it for me. What will you do?"
The Mother Tree of Desire had just delivered an oracle
