At the mention of the God of Luck, the Hanged Man, Justice, and the other early members of the Tarot Club looked enlightened. The Tower had been seeking information about that Elf Subsidiary God for a long time, so it was only natural that he had found something.

But the God of Luck was a member of Rose Redemption? Could he also be a King of Angel?

Justice and the others seemed ready to ask for more details, but Abner felt he had revealed enough for one day. He changed the subject and turned to Derrick, the Sun, beside him.

"Have you found out anything about the former Chief's mausoleum?"

At the Tower's question, Derrick answered with some embarrassment:

"No. I've kept being assigned patrols lately, so I haven't had a chance to investigate."

Abner had expected as much. He offered some earnest advice. "The leaders of the City of Silver know perfectly well whom you represent. You don't need to investigate it yourself. That would only make them suspicious!

"Just ask the Chief or another member of the Six-Member Council directly.

"Tell them I want to know.

"And consider the information I just gave you about the True Creator a show of good faith—or a bargaining chip..."

Derrick froze. It had never occurred to him that he could do that.

But the mention of a "bargaining chip" filled him with pain again. The hope the City of Silver had pursued and waited for so desperately was only an illusion, one that could never come true.

He was certain the Chief and the Six-Member Council would suffer even more than he had when they heard the news.

After all, his own faith had long since wavered.

Derrick was distressed, but he knew this was no time to dwell on it.
