When Abner heard Hazel had come to visit, he was a little surprised. He drained the coffee in his cup, wiped his mouth, then rose and headed for the sitting room.

In everyday life, Abner avoided using abilities like Insight unless he needed to. Doing so for everything would take away much of life's pleasure and make him less and less like a "person."

When he reached the sitting room, he was surprised to find that Hazel had not come alone. With her were Klein's sister Melissa and Miss Elizabeth, who had only recently joined the Nighthawks and still had a little baby fat on her face.

Tear tracks still marked Melissa's face. The color of her emotions held both joy and sorrow, along with a trace of anxious uncertainty.

After a brief exchange of greetings, Abner looked at Hazel and smiled. "It seems you've finished digesting the Mystery Pryer Potion."

"Thanks to your guidance." Hazel gazed at his face with gratitude.

It was because Abner had told her to investigate Detective Sherlock that she had managed to digest the Potion so quickly.

Melissa and Elizabeth, who had no idea what the two were talking about, grew anxious and discreetly tugged at the hem of Hazel's dress.

They had booked seats on the nine o'clock train to Tingen that morning. With time running short, they had resorted to the rather impolite gesture.

Hazel came back to herself, drew her captivated gaze away, and cleared her throat softly before explaining why they had come:

"Melissa, Elizabeth, and I need to go to Tingen. We won't be back until noon tomorrow... Elizabeth has some freedom because of her work, but Melissa and I don't want our families to worry. So we were hoping you could find a way to cover for us."
