He had acquired the aura of the Knowledge Moor through a trade with Yaluolan. In the God of Luck's experiment, she had obtained the trait of the special soul corresponding to the Knowledge Moor.
The aura of the Key of Light had come from a similar source. Roselle had found the God of Luck's temple—or rather, his tomb—and taken some of the aura from him.

Later, in Derrick's Labyrinth, he had found a way aboard the Spectral Empire. The ship had taken him near the Night Emperor's Divine Kingdom, where he finally obtained the aura.
Lying in the coffin, Abner listened as Roselle told Aglaia where the auras had come from. He could not help recalling the gap of more than half a year in the diaries from Roselle's later years that Bernadette had given him.
Perhaps this was when that missing stretch of time had taken place...
With nothing else to do, Abner let his thoughts wander as he listened to Roselle talk with his adopted daughter.
