Klein observed from Above the Gray Fog for a while. When he discovered that Amon, who had emerged from underground, had suddenly vanished, he performed another Divination. Only after confirming there was no danger did he "resurrect on the spot" and appear beside Abner.
He looked around and asked, "What happened just now? Did you deal with Amon?"
Klein had now realized that Abner had used him to set a trap for Amon.
Abner shook his head lightly. "How could it be that easy... I merely trapped him temporarily, then took the opportunity to make a deal with Adam."
If he could truly kill Amon or seize the Error Unique and the Worm of Time Beyonder Characteristic, Abner would never have agreed to let Adam "ransom him."
But unfortunately, with his current level of control over Memory Theater and Forced Transaction, he could not accomplish that.
Amon had only failed to resist with all his strength because he had been temporarily intimidated by the possible existence of an Outer Deity... Otherwise, he might have found a "bug" and escaped on his own.
And Abner did not truly possess the level of a Great Old One. Given enough time, Amon would definitely discover that.
That was also why Abner had not attempted to use Memory Theater to indirectly "contaminate" Amon. It would very likely let Amon realize that Memory Theater was merely a manifestation of a Unique empowered by a Great Old One.

Directly using Unknown to "contaminate" Amon might succeed, but that would amount to increasing the strength of his future enemy. Abner would have to be insane
