As soon as The World finished speaking, Abner chimed in with timely "modesty." "I only suggested a way to break the Abyss of Flesh. The one who did the real work was Mr. Fool's blessed, the Gentleman Thief Black Emperor."
Klein needed an audience's applause, while Abner needed his reputation for erudition to spread.
Between their back-and-forth praise, they achieved their respective goals for Acting and its feedback.
The Tarot Club members on either side of the long table, now deep in thought, were proof enough.
So the Gentleman Thief Black Emperor found a way to break the Abyss of Flesh with Mr. Tower's wisdom... No wonder Cons said there was an Emperor card and a Tower card at the scene. So that was why!
But how did Mr. World know about it?
As Justice Audrey's thoughts raced, a connection suddenly occurred to her:
The Gentleman Thief Black Emperor was Mr. Fool's blessed;
Mr. World had been personally brought into the Tarot Club by Mr. Fool, and he had never collected Emperor Roselle's Diary;
So was Mr. World the Gentleman Thief Black Emperor—Mr. Fool's blessed?
Was the reason he never submitted Emperor Roselle's Diary that he'd already done so in private? Were some of his earlier actions meant to conceal his identity as a blessed?
That's right. When Miss Temperance submitted a diary before, she said the contribution should be credited to Mr. World... That means Mr. World has been accumulating contributions all along; we just didn't know about them. And Miss Temperance was able to join the Tarot Club because that gentleman used his contributions to ask Mr. Fool to help her, or save her... Just like when Mr. Tower brought Miss Judgment into the club!
*It's so hard to connect Mr. World with the Gentleman Thief Black Emperor.
